St. Joseph Montessori School Sports 2013-2014 SJMS partners with Saint Mary’s in German Village to offer students in 4th-8th grades the opportunity to participate on sporting teams that compete in the Diocese of Columbus Recreation Association. The SJMS Athletic Director is Ian Fellows. Ian participates with the St. Mary’s Athletic Board and coordinates the registration of SJMS students for individual sports. Here is an overview of important information and dates: Registration forms and payments are turned into the SJMS office. The Head of School is required to sign each Parent Consent Form. Checks are made payable to the St. Mary Athletic Association. Ian Fellows takes the signed forms and payments to St. Mary’s. Uniforms are the responsibility of the parents for return to the team coach or to St. Mary’s. Registration Forms include: o Parent Consent Form (required for each sport) o Sport Parent Code of Conduct o Parent Consent for Release of Personally Identifiable Information (photos) Parents of children participating in a sport are required to attend one Mandatory Parent Meeting Soccer: Boys and Girls soccer registration occurs in May/June. Practice starts in July. Games take place in August through September. Football: St. Mary’s partners with the Trinity Western Knights football program. Registration occurs in June/July. Practices started in early August. Games take place September through November. Volleyball: Girls volleyball registration occurs in May/June. Practices start in August. Games take place August through September. Basketball: Boys and Girls basketball registration occurs in September/October. Practices start in November. Games take place December-February. Track, Baseball, Softball: Registration occurs in January/February. Practices start in March. Games take place April through May.
