Upon completion of this seminar, participants should be able to: Identify current issues in antenatal screening Discuss the method of milk delivery to the preterm infant Review current data on the use of an exclusively human milk diet in extremely pre mature infants Examine the role of Lactoferrin in the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) Review the impact of diet and growth on cognition and adult outcomes in very low birth weight infants Identify current quality improvement issues in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Discuss the care of the baby with chronic lung disease Examine the use of nitric oxide to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), Discuss the treatment of thyroid disorders in the newborn Conference Accreditation Physicians -The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute’s CME program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
