Program Overview and Objectives
This annual seminar features lectures and panel discussions on a variety of neonatal and related issues. The
program is designed for neonatologists, pediatricians, obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists,
family physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals involved in the care of mothers and neonatal
infants. Upon completion of this seminar, participants should be able to:
Identify current issues in antenatal screening
Discuss the method of milk delivery to the preterm infant
Review current data on the use of an exclusively human milk diet in extremely pre mature infants
Examine the role of Lactoferrin in the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC)
Review the impact of diet and growth on cognition and adult outcomes in very low birth weight infants
Identify current quality improvement issues in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Discuss the care of the baby with chronic lung disease
Examine the use of nitric oxide to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD),
Discuss the treatment of thyroid disorders in the newborn
Conference Accreditation
Physicians -The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute’s CME program is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for
physicians. The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute designates this educational activity for a
maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category I credit(s) ™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with
the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nurses-The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute is accredited as a provider of continuing
education in nursing by the West Virginia Nurses Association. WVNA is accredited by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This program has been approved for 8 contact
hours PO15-11-010092
Social Work-The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute is an approved provider of continuing
education by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners. This program has been approved for 7
hour of social work credit. Approval number 490045.

Comfort Zone
Every effort is made to have a comfortable temperature in the meeting room. However, we realize
everyone's comfort zone is different, so please bring a sweater or light jacket.
Cancellations and Substitutions Policy:
You may cancel your registration up to 10 business days before the program and we will refund your full
registration. If you need to cancel less than 10 business days prior to the program you may 1) send a
substitute from your organization or 2) transfer your registration fee to another program of your choice that
is scheduled with in 12 months of your original event. Please note, if you don’t cancel and don’t attend you
are still responsible for payment.

Parking is available in the Marriott and Charleston Town Center Parking Garages. Participants are
responsible for parking fees.
