Physical Strength Code 1 L 2 L 3 L 4 L 5 L Court Collections Specialist: Court ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Pulls files for debt setoff program and receipts payments received by mail; updates the files on jail or credit in lieu of fines, fees sanctions. Monitors fee payment schedule accounts and follows up on due and past due payments. Sets delinquent citations to default status through Motor Vehicle Department; pulls files for daily payments, probation reviews and notices of failure to pay dockets. Contacts delinquent defendants and issues notices for failure to pay, orders to show cause, bond forfeiture hearings and warrants. Reconciles the city ledger with the fee books on a monthly basis; submits and reports discrepancies to accounting manager and supervisor. Prepares statistical and analytical reports on collection efforts. Interviews defendants to determine their ability to pay court ordered fines and sanctions; issues payment contracts to defendant. Provides community service information to defendants. Over one year experience of high-volume telephone collections and experience working with automated collection systems, and dealing with customers in person are highly desirable. Some experience in responsible and varied clerical experience in a court related and bookkeeping environment. Valid Arizona Operator’s Driver’s License. 16 CO-JET credits annually— Administrative Supreme Court Order. Understand and follow oral and/or written policies procedures and instructions. Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals for cash handling and record-keeping systems and collections. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines. Demonstrates integrity, ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks. Make sound and reasonable decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, regulations and established procedures.
