Jan Brink, chronology 1960 Born in Hörby, Sweden. 1967 Jan starts school. The same year he joins the ice hockey team in Tyringe. 1970 Jan starts riding at the local riding club – Tyringe Riding Club. 1973 Jan gets his first horse, the two-year old cross breed mare, Nepita. He also has great success in the ice hockey team Tyringe. 1975 The first competition is a LB show jumping class with Nepita. After that, they continue to compete in show jumping and eventing. 1976 Graduates from elementary school. Deselects ice hockey to invest wholeheartedly in the riding. The same year he gets accepted into Flyinge’s winter equestrian short term training program. 1977 Medverkar på Flyinges uppvisningar och blir samma år anställd. 1977 Participates on the horseshows at Flyinge gets the same year employed by Flyinge. The same year Jan begins to train dressage horses in the evening in rental yards. Begins selling horses for export. 80-81 Military service at P2 in Hässleholm, Sweden. Jan get to know Britt and Bruno Albinsson and starts, what will become a very successful collaboration with them. 1981 Jan ceases his employment at Flyinge. Starts Tullstorp Dressage Stable in Hässleholm with Bruno Albinsson. Moves to Ballingslöv. 81-82 Trains horses for export sales in collaboration with Bruno Albinsson. Deciding whether to continue to develop Tullstorp together. 82-83 Jan begins his trainer education at Georg Theodorescu, Warendorf. He brings two of his own horses. Tullstorp is at this time rebuilt to have room for 20 horses. 1984 Returns back home to Sweden. Starts to train young stallions for stallion shows and performance tests. 84- 86 Competing successfully on self educated horses. Sales horses and export increases. Tullstorp developed step by step, more and more victorious stallions come from the dressage yard. 1986 Magini 695 (later the father of Briar) wins the performance test. 1987 Martini 744 becomes a two-time winner of the stallion and performance test with the highest index ever. 88-90 Competing frequently up to S-classes with the stallions Algeretto 693 and Martini 744 with great success. 1991 Wins his first Grand Prix with “Another Senator” in Belgium. 1993 Martini 744 debuts in Grand Prix. Jan is chosen to join the Swedish National Team for the first time. New business contacts is made in Brazil, Jan start training clients in San Paulo. 94-96 Jan trains regulary in Hamburg at his role model Herbert Rehbein. He starts to train for Kyra Kyrklund, who will come to mean a lot for his future development and success. 1995 Three important stallions from Tullstorp is at the top during the performance test. Sack 907 wins the performance test. Briar 899 is on the second place. The show jumping stallion So What becomes the best show jumping stallion of them all. 1996 Jan take over and buy the business at Tullstorp to run and develop the business on his own. He rent land and stables of Albinssons. Sack 907 wins Breeders Throphy, Briar 899 is on a third place. 1997 Jan participates in the European Championship and win a bronze medal together with the Swedish team on Martini 744 in Germany, Verden. Sack 907 wins Breeders Throphy for 6-year-olds, Briar 899 is on a second place. 1998 World Championship bronze with the Swedish Team with Fontana 849 (e Martini 744) in Rome. Jan buy and take over Tullstorp.The new indoor arena and the octagonal barn plotted and planned. 1999 The new indoor arena and stallion stables is officially opened. Tullstorp becomes a limitecd company. 2000 Jan participates in his first Olympic Games in Sidney, Australia on nine year old Briar 899. 2001 Jan becomes the Swedish Champion when winning the National Championships together with Briar 899. They take a 10th individual place at the European Championships in Verden, Germany. 2002 Swedish Championship gold with Briar 899. Jan scores a 12:th place individually at the World Championships in Jerez, Spain. Briar takes his first World Cup victory. 2003 Swedish Championship gold with Briar 899. Jan takes a historically, individual European Championship silver medal with Briar 899 in Hickstead, England. 2004 Jan and Briar scores a 7th place even at the Olympic Games in Athens. Briar is ranked as the world’s best stallion. 2005 Swedish Chmapionship gold with Briar 899. Jan and Briar win the Championship in Aachen as the first Swedish rider with the record score 82.7%. Ranked as the second best rider and horse in the world. Takes two-times European Championship bronze, as a team and individual on Briar 899. Briar is ranked number 1 on the world ranking. 2006 Swedish Cmahpionship gold with Briar 899. Bronze at World Cup finals in Amsterdam. The new training stables at Tullstorp is officially opened. 2007 Gold at the National Championships with Briar 899. A fifth place at the World Cup finals in Las Vegas, USA. First Wish 1103 becomes the champion of the stallion performance test and 3-year old championship. Jan takes a bronze medal with the Swedish team in Turin. Jan marries Catharina Svensson from Copenhagen. 2008 Jan and the Swedish team takes a 4th place at the Olympics, Hong Kong. Takes his 7th Swedish Championship gold with Briar 899. Jan scores a 5th place in World Cup finals with Briar 899. Shared Grand Prix victory with the Briar son Biggles 1015. The riding student Sara-Henrietta B. Kallstrom becomes double Nordic Champion for Juniors and win the Power Cup. 2009 Double victory at the World Cup in Scandinavium with Briar 899. Jan ends his international career in Las Vegas at the World Cup final with a farewell for Briar 899 and his extra ordinary career. 4 Grand Prix victories with the Briar son Biggles 1015. JJ Rayban 1173 is only approved 3-year-old stallion on the performance test. The student Sara-Henrietta B. Kallstrom makes a hat trick on the Swedish Championships and become the Swedish Champion for Young Riders and wins the Young Rider Kraft Cup. 2010 JJ Rayban 1173 becomes the Champion of the performance test 2010. Briar brother Okeanos 1097 debuts in Grand Prix and scores a second place. The daughter Angelina is born. The student Sara-Henrietta B. Kallstrom does it again and win the Swedish Championships for Young Riders as well as the Nordic Championships. The student Marina Mattsson makes a second hat trick on the national championships and becomes a Swedish Champion for juniors. Eleven Elin Aspnäs takes silver in championship for juniors. 2011 JJ RayBan wins Scandinavian Open in Falsterbo and the breeding championship, Flyinge. Hohenstaufen II wins the 7- year old championship in Flyinge. Okeanos is successfully competing with many victories up to and in Grand Prix. Jan is very active as a trainer and coach of Swedish and international riders which results in gold and silver medals for the students in the Swedish and Danish Championships. Tullstorp stuent Anna Ziebrantsen takes three medals at the European Championships. Hannell Dressage AB is founded and the collaboration with Tullstorp increases. Jan and Catharina’s son Oliver is born. 2012 Zaladin MI 1240 wins the Swedish Stallion Performance Test. The stallion JJ RayBan wins the Swedish Breeding and Sports Championship at Flyinge for 6-year-olds. Jan is very active as a trainer for both Swedish and foreign young riders who won two Swedish Championship gold medals, juniorand Young Riders as well as a gold medal at the Danish Championship for junior rider Anna Zibrandtsen. European Championship bronze medal for Danish Anna Zibrandtsen. Jan is very active as a trainer for the riders at Hannell Dressage. 2013 Jan Brink collects the prize as Trainer of the Year 2012. Sankt Erik II 1265 wins the Swedish Stallion Performance Test. Tullstorps Stallion Program expanded within both jumping and dressage with 24 stallions in the program and several semen import stallions, expanded cooperation with Schou Absolute Horses and Royne Zetterman. Tullstorp’s stallions in the lead in Sweden both with regards to the number of mares covered and with the results of the offspring with Ampère in the lead. Tullstorp students at the top both nationally and internationally with gold medals at the Swedish and Nordic Championships and with 3 students at the European Championship Finals. Jan Brink wins several competitions on the talented 7-year-old JJ RayBan and wins Grand Prix debut with the 8-year-old Rentino. New office and pool house inaugurated.
