Acceptance notification for abstracts sent via email. Deadline for authors of accepted poster presentations to submit conflict of interest, CV and biographic information. Primary Author/Presenter’s Curriculum Vitae, Biographical Sketch, or Resume RULES FOR PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS Expenses (e.g., registration, airfare, and lodging) associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter(s). Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present if accepted. You do not have to be a member of the RNS to submit an abstract for poster presentation. Poster presenters must register for the conference Instructions for registering for the meeting and guidelines for posters will be included with the notice of acceptance. Copyright: authors are required to write an original abstract that fulfills accepted criteria for copyright purposes. Accepted abstracts will be included in the RNS newsletter. If submitting an abstract that has been previously presented and/or published, all data should be updated, current and rewritten in a way that does not infringe on copyright laws. Authors are responsible to obtain permission to include any copyrighted material in their abstract presentations. Submission Guidelines (Registered Nurses/ LPN’s/ Respiratory Therapists/ MD’s) ABSTRACT TITLE An abstract must have a short, specific title (containing no abbreviations) that indicates the nature of the presentation. AUTHOR NAME(S) The submitting author is designated as the primary/presenting author. ABSTRACT TEXT The presentation must relate to an area significant to respiratory nursing research, practice or education. The abstract must be a Microsoft Word document and include: o Purpose o Background or review of the literature o Research presentations should include study design and methods o Outcomes or findings o Implications for practice Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Non-standard abbreviations (kept to a minimum) must be placed in parentheses after the first use of the word or phrase abbreviated. Abstracts are limited to 500 words. As a separate Microsoft Word document, provide objectives (minimum of three) for the poster presentation. Submission Guidelines (Student Nurse Poster) Student Poster’s will be judged by 3 conference planning RNS members. The winning poster will receive a $500.00 Scholarship Award (must submit proof of current enrollment in an accredited nursing program to be eligible) * (A student nurse is defined as a student in an accredited nursing program not yet licensed.
