A. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library’s integrated library

technology team that maintains an inventory of 100+ public and staff
microcomputers; assist with diagnosing and reporting of networking problems

includes selecting books and media and maintaining journal and serial subscriptions
in support of their curriculum. I also evaluate electronic resources that provide
access to the literature and assist faculty and students with using these resources.
F. Library Instruction: Teach library instruction to English Composition students and
classes in my liaison departments.
G. Disabilities Librarian: Act as a library liaison with the Office of Services to
Students with Disabilities. This responsibility includes evaluating library policies
and facilities with respect to providing services to individuals with disabilities. I
also assist individuals who have disabilities with their library needs.

audio visual equipment; coordinate Periodicals/Media Department procedures with

VI. LIBRARY ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:
 Designed and executed use studies of the library’s paper and microform periodicals.
 Created collection development policies in support of the Chemistry, Earth
Sciences, and Counseling & Psychological Services curricula.
 Planned and executed orientation and training programs for new student assistants.
 Wrote a procedures manual and training manual for the Periodicals/Media
Department staff and student assistants.
 Planned and implemented the rearrangement of the Periodicals/Media service desk
making it more accessible to library patrons.
 Initiated a plan to automate the collection of use data for current and bound
periodicals by coordinating the barcoding of these collections, ordering the
necessary equipment, and working with the Systems and Serials Librarians to create
a database in which to store the data.
 Created a guide to help science students define and recognize various forms of
primary and second literature.
 Installed an adaptive technology Internet station in the library’s reference area for
students with disabilities. The equipment and software for this station was funded
by a successful SCAP proposal written the year before.
 Assisted with the implementation of a new library management system: Aleph
from ExLibris.
 Implemented a laptop loan program where students can sign a laptop out from our
Circulation Desk for use in the library.

 Instructional Computing Center SCAP Proposal for 2000/01. Co-Authored with
Natalie Sturr a SCAP proposal for an accessible computer station for the
library’s lobby area. This station is intended to give individuals with disabilities
access to the library’s CD-ROM and Web based databases: 21” monitor,
trackball mouse, ergonomic keyboard, headphones & software (screen reading
software & screen magnification software). The proposal was approved by the
Computing Services Council and ranked 5th out of 15 in priority.
