DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All
instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and
successful use of this product.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATION
Permanent pasture, grass only leys established for at least 18 months,
Crop or situation
grassed areas around farm buildings.
Use
To control perennial weeds and woody weeds.
Dose - overall spray
2-4 litres product/ha – see notes on specific weeds.
Dose - spot treatment
60 ml per 10 litres water – see notes on specific weeds.
Period of application
and advice
 Treat most weeds whilst in the rosette stage. If practicable, spray the
regrowth after a cut for hay or silage. Treatment should be timed
according to the dominant target weeds – see notes on specific weeds.
 Do not treat leys containing clover or other legumes if these are
important constituents of the sward. Clovers and other legumes will be
killed.
 Do not cut or graze for at least 7 days, preferably 14 days, either
before or after treatment.

Period of application
 When actively growing or in full leaf but before flower stems
appear. If treating after cutting, allow 2-3 weeks for sufficient
new growth to appear. Regrowth from the crown may occur
after treatment with well-established docks and further
treatment will probably be necessary in the following year.
 When 15-25 cm (6-10”) high before flowering.
 Aim to treat in spring or early summer at the rosette stage
to before the flower spikes are 15 cm high. Treatment later or
in autumn may be less effective as by this time thistles will
have made maximum root growth and may have become
senescent.
 In mid-summer whilst growth is still fresh before any
senescence. Good coverage of the foliage with spray is
essential for satisfactory results.
 Well-timed treatments in two consecutive years will lead to
improved control.

CROP, SOIL AND WEATHER FACTORS
Best weed control is obtained when the weather is warm and the soil is moist, encouraging
active weed growth and vigorous competition from the grasses.
 Avoid application to weeds hardened by drought or cold weather; delay application until the
weather is more favourable to growth.
 A temporary yellowing of grasses may occur shortly after treatment but is normally quickly
outgrown.
 Do not apply to wet foliage or if rain is forecast.
 Do not apply to grasses under any growing stress such as cold weather, drought, water
logging, physical damage, pesticide toxicity, improper nutrition or other disorder until the
stresses have been relieved and the grasses are growing strongly again.
 Do not use this product on areas due to be sown with grasses, kale, swedes or turnips
within 2 months of spraying.
APPLICATION
 Avoid spray drift onto nearby crops; do not spray in windy weather. Many horticultural and
agricultural crops are susceptible to the components of Greencrop Hi-Grass 90 and may be
damaged by spray drift.
 Avoid application during hot weather in the vicinity of susceptible crops and amenity plants
as the risk of vapour drift is increased.
Overall spray
Apply the recommended dose as a MEDIUM (BCPC) spray in 300-400 l/ha (3-4 litres per 100
m2) water, using the highest spray volume in the most dense vegetation or when weeds are
numerous or large. Do not overlap spray swaths.
Spot treatment
Use a COARSE (BCPC) spray or flood jet to spray individual weeds to cover the foliage to
before the point of run-off.
FOLLOWING CROPS
Susceptible crops must not be planted on land treated with Greencrop Hi-Grass 90 in the year
of treatment. At least 9 months must have elapsed after the last application before planting a
susceptible crop in the following year.
Particularly sensitive crop plants
These crops are particularly sensitive to herbicidal residues in the soil and to damage
following contamination by wind drift:
Papilionaceae
Umbelliferae,
Compositae
Miscellaneous
Clovers, lucerne, beans, peas, some ornamentals
Carrot, parsnip
Lettuce, some ornamentals
Potato, protected crops, conifers.
Particularly sensitive crops may be damaged by herbicidal residues contained within treated
herbage. Complete decay of the old treated herbage residues, including those made into
FYM, is essential before the planting of a sensitive crop.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Immediately after use wash the spraying machine and all utensils thoroughly with clean water
and a wetting agent recommended for the cleaning of application equipment. Traces of
herbicide left in the sprayer may result in damage to other crops.
