The infants and teachers really enjoyed getting outside for our sometimes “-lengthy” walks during this mild November! The fresh air tends to calm the babies down, even on our fussiest days. Our December theme for Nursery One is “Just Like Snowflakes”! We will give our infants plenty to stimulate their little minds. Miss Carmela has been planning our holiday decorations since September…lol! In addition, we are hoping to create a little holiday surprise for our moms, dads, and families. Please continue to dress your child appropriately for the weather, including hats and gloves, in the event that December brings us some more mild days. Thank you! Miss Mary, Miss Carmela, and Miss Nicole Miss Jenn TODDLER 1 – Let the countdown to Christmas begin! This month in art we will be making lots of snowflakes, reindeer, and Christmas trees! We will also be singing songs for our Christmas Pageant on December 12th. I hope to see you there! As the weather gets colder and we start expecting snow, I hope to be able to take my toddlers outside to play and build snowmen. I will be sure to send home reminders to bring in snow clothes. Also, my friends are now counting! Some can count to five on their own. Yay friends! I look forward to having lots of Christmas fun with your toddlers! Miss Carly and Miss Sonja TODDLER 2 - Winter is coming! Winter is coming! So please send in those extra hats and gloves for when we can get outside for walks. When the snow starts to fall, I will send out a letter for snow clothes. Playing in the snow is so much fun! The December theme is “Winter and Holidays”. It’s the best for art activities! Also this month, our annual Christmas Pageant! The toddlers will be singing three holiday songs. Hope to see you all there! As we continue the potty training, we have found it hard if the children have on onesies. We understand it’s cold out and you want to keep the little friends warm. But please help us by trying to limit the wearing of onesies. Thank you! December 2012 Newsletter Miss Kari and Miss Jessy TODDLER 3 - Winter is almost here! Let the countdown to Christmas begin! This month is all about snow and the holidays. We will start off December talking about snow and cold weather. What do we wear outside in the cold? What can we do in the snow? We will make snowflakes and snowmen, and even igloos! A wintry snack is even in the plans! “Forever Green” is our next topic, where we will make Christmas trees and wreaths. Of course, we are also going to talk about Christmas and Santa! We will make lots of awesome Christmas decorations, so make sure you have room at home for our treasures! A special Christmas surprise for our families is also in the works! We will start a countdown to Christmas by making a Christmas chain and have a small party. I will let you know the details. Please remember our Christmas Pageant on Wednesday, December 12th at 6:15 pm. Our friends are practicing very hard for this! As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. We talk about what to wear outside every day…coats, hats, and gloves. All of these things are a must for us to go outside and enjoy the fresh air! We cannot go outside is everyone is not prepared. December is going to be a fun and busy month for us! Miss Renee and Miss Cheryl PRESCHOOL 2 – December is fast upon us, and it brings Preschool Two to the “ABC’s of Christmas”. All month long we will learn about Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa! Week One is “Christmas by the Alphabet”. We will practice our language when we write letters to Santa. We will use our small motor finger muscles when we play with peppermint playdough. Week Two is “Make a Joyful Noise”. We will make a joyful noise at our Christmas Pageant on Wednesday, December 12th at 6:15 pm. All are invited to come and see us jingle and shine! Week Three is “Hurray for Hanukkah and Kwanzaa”. We will practice using our large motor muscles when we dance and sing to “Spin, Dreidle, Spin”. We will use our language skills when we learn new vocabulary that goes along with Kwanzaa. Please be sure to sign up if you will attend our annual Christmas Pageant. Also, let me know of any winter holiday traditions that your family has. We would love for you to share your holiday traditions with our class! Happy Holidays! Miss Sue and Miss Melissa PRESCHOOL 1 – How fast the year has gone and it is almost winter! Christmas will be here before you know it! Out theme this month is “Millions of Snowflakes”. Week One is “Snowy Days”. The children and I will talk about what snow is. We will play with shaving cream, touch cold ice and snow, name things that are cold, paint with ice cubes, make snowflakes, and lots more! Week Two is “It’s Snowing”. We will talk Miss Alysia SCHOOLAGE – The school agers are busy with school and homework. The best part of December, besides the holidays, is that the schoolagers have a week off! Perhaps some of our friends from summer will be joining us for their time off and we can plan lots of good fun! Miss Alyse
