EASTER SUNDAY 4th APRIL 2010
Dear Parishioners,
‘Christ our hope is risen! Christ died to rise again so that His Father will be glorified.
We too are brought back to true life in Christ. If we die with Him we will rise with
Him and in our lives be witnesses to the power of the resurrection.’(Pope John Sunday
Missal)
Father Sean and I wish you all a very blessed and happy Easter. We are so grateful for
your prayerful participation in the services of Holy Week. Special thanks to our young
Parishioners for leading the Stations last Tuesday.
In particular, we thank our Altar Servers for their reverence; our Choir and
organist, our Church Wardens and cleaners; our Readers and Special Ministers of
Holy Communion. We thank those of you who have prepared the Church for the
inspiring liturgies; and those who have beautified the Church with flowers.
Special thanks to you all for your generous offerings, cards and gifts. It is very much
appreciated.
We are so grateful to have returned to our beautifully refurbished Church in time for
Holy Week and Easter. This has been made possible by the professionalism of our
builders ‘Swifts’. They have worked so skilfully and enthusiastically on the Church
and we thank God for our architect, Daniel Hurd, and our artist Stephen Foster. We
are delighted with the artwork around the Tabernacle.
Please pray for the children and babies who are to be baptized this Easter: Emily and
Rory Leek; Oscar Sharp and Sandra Ashley; and for Lidia Scannaliato who is to be
confirmed at the Easter Vigil. Emily will also make her First Holy Communion.
Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday and there will be devotions in Church from
2.30pm onwards.
The next two Baptismal preparation evenings will be Wednesday 14th April and
Wednesday 21st April; both at 8pm in the Presbytery.

Jesus Christ you have risen and we see you,
In the faces of the poor,
In the hurting of the sick,
In the anguish of the oppressed
Jesus Christ you are risen and we see you,
In the weakness of the vulnerable,
In the questions of the doubting,
In the fears of the dying.
Jesus Christ you are risen and we see you,
In the celebration of the saints,
In the generosity of the faithful,
In the compassion of the caring.
Jesus Christ you are risen and we see you,
You transform our world with love and hope,
You ignite our hearts of stone with compassion and care
You transfigure our world with the spirit of life.
Hallelujah, Jesus Christ you are risen and we see you.
Please pray for: Eugene O’Donnell, Julia Mahoney, Margaret Teeling,
Josephine McAuley, Raymond Charles Hughes, Edna Norton, Hannah Mulcahy and
Janet Cronin whose anniversaries are at this time.
