Also provide a one sentence summary for each book listed and explain in one or two sentences how it reflects your intended theme. 4. Family Reading and Discussion Grant Budget Form Maximum: $1000.00 Use the Budget Request Form to itemize and explain your project expenses. Round all figures to the nearest dollar. Council Funds (column A): Scholar’s Honorarium: Please include compensation that your scholar co-facilitator has agreed to receive. Books and Supplies: Please approximate how much you expect to spend to purchase books and supplies. If there is a charge for requesting books from your library system, please indicate this in the budget notes. Staff Salaries: Staff salaries should not exceed 25 percent of the total grant request to the Council. Publicity: Costs associated with publicizing and marketing a program (e.g. mailings, advertisements, etc.). Equipment and Facility Rentals: May include the purchase of equipment only when the cost of purchase is documented as lower than renting it for the execution of the project. Administrative Expenses: Costs directly associated with implementation of the program such as photocopying, photography, refreshments, and childcare. Other: Please explain in notes column. Cost Share (column B): Cost Sharing: All Council grants must be matched by contributions to the project from the sponsoring organization, or from third parties in an amount equal to or exceeding the Council’s award. National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) funds may not be used as cost sharing. Cost sharing may consist of cash contributions, in-kind contributions, or a combination of the two. Cash Contributions: Cash cost-sharing contributions are defined as cash outlays for budgeted program activities that are paid: from your own funds; from monies contributed to you by other public agencies and institutions, private organizations, and individuals; and from funds received under agreements with federal agencies other than the NEH. In-kind Contributions: In-kind cost-sharing contributions are not cash; rather, they are the dollar value of goods and services contributed to the project by either your organization or by third parties.
