SKJ registration procedure From 1 May 2007, a breeder must accompany every application to register the litter, with a copy of a valid membership card with a valid membership stamp for the calendar year. Without attaching a copy of a valid membership card with a valid membership stamp for the calendar year the litter will not be registered. Since 1 January 2007, if a breeder/ applicant does not pay fees for the performance of the breeding book of SKJ Secretariat, the fee of SKK 50 will be charged for each reminder sent to the amount outstanding. SKJ breeding book (SPKP - Slovak Dogs Breeding Book) - registers breeding stations (as a protected name) and their offspring; - breeding animals; - Imported dogs. Breeding stations A breeder must apply for a protected name of his breeding station and its registration if his bitch meets the conditions for breeding and he is interested in breeding. The application is submitted via the breeding consultant at SKJ in prescribed form, showing six proposed titles, of maximum 3 words each. Breeding station name is verified by FCI / Belgium Transfer of the breeding station is possible based on a request of the original and current owner at the address of the breeding book. Cancellation of breeding station will take place 15 years after the last registration of puppies, upon a written statement by the owner on the cancellation, in case of the owner's death outside the heritage estate, or upon withdrawal as a result of a disciplinary action. Breeding can be realized without the establishment of own breeding station under a written agreement with another, already existing breeding station. In this case, the breeding consultant must be noticed in advance. The owner of the breeding station on which puppies shall be bred must submit a written request for SKJ approval in advance. It is advisable to draw up a contract. Entry in Breeding Book In the Slovak dog breeding book at SKJ (SPKP / SKJ) puppies are registered whose breeder has complied with the conditions of the Breeding Regulations. The owner shall send a completed application for registration (two copies) to the breeding consultant within three weeks after the birth of puppies. He then confirms membership in the cynological club and authorizes entry of puppies into the Slovak Breeding Book of SKJ and forwards the application to the Breeding Book of SKJ. If the breeder wants to send an application for registration of puppies directly to SKJ he may do so only after litter inspection. PP is granted to puppies only after litter inspection! In case of the first pregnancy of a bitch, the breeder shall send with the application also the original of its pedigree (PP) for the purpose of registration of breeding animals. Names of puppies of one litter for one breeder must start with the same letter in alphabetical order, regardless of the number of breeding bitches. If a breeder has more breeds, this rule applies for each breed separately. If the breeder wants to export puppies abroad, he must apply at PK SKJ for issuance of an export pedigree. The breeder is required to submit PP to a new dog owner for free. Pedigree of a Dog (PP) PP is issued by the Breeding Book. It certifies the origin of a dog demonstrated at least by five generations of ancestors and certified breed purity. PP is valid only if signed by a representative of the Breeding Book, a breed and an owner. Changes in PP (except for the change of owner) may be exercised only by the Breeding Book based on owner’s request. Entries about exhibitions, tests, breeding tests and outlet of young dogs are made only by reviewers and performance judges. Loss of PP is required to be reported to the Breeding Book, which can issue a duplicate based on a written request. All acts of the Breeding Book are for consideration.
