The Provincial Priory of Derbyshire On Tuesday June 25th 2013, a bright and sunny afternoon across most of the Country, and one of those occasions to be enjoyed following the recent weather a contingent of Knights from Durham once more headed south. Leading the deputation the Provincial Prior, Rt Em Kt Alan Hall, along with the Provincial Registrar Em Kt Richard Hamlyn Tucker, GMBB, who remarked on the pleasure of being driven as Em Kt Peter George Hunter PDepGSwdB, Provincial Vice Chancellor, had elected to drive the team on this occasion. Arriving in plenty of time to receive a warm welcome and accompanying hospitality from the Provincial Prior, Right Eminent Knight, John Raymond Collison, and his Officers and the Knights of the Province in the beautifully adorned and spacious hall, the trio settled down to witness not only the procedures of their Annual Meeting but of the Investure of the new Provincial Sub Prior, Em Kt Graeme Hutchinson, PGtHerald. Em Kt Hutchinson had for the last six years been the Provincial Vice Chancellor. He is also currently Supreme Ruler of the Order of the Secret Monitor in West Yorkshire Before obligating, and installing Em Kt Hutchinson as Provincial Sub Prior, The Provincial Prior Rt Em Kt John Raymond Collison paid tribute to VEm Kt Peter Gerrard Salt, Great Registrar and retiring Provincial Sub Prior, who had continuously served the Province for over 13 years first as Vice Chancellor and for the last 6 years as Provincial Sub Prior. Rt Em Knight John Raymond Collison, in acknowledging the contribution given by VEm Kt Salt, presented his Past Provincial Sub Prior with a certificate of Service to Knights Templar Masonry which whilst had previously only been presented to 4 other recipients, VEm Kt Peter Gerard Salt Great Registrar was the only current recipient able to enjoy this commendation. The formalities completed and Em Kt Graeme Hutchinson, PGtHerald, installed as Provincial Sub Prior he was saluted as such the meeting continued. The investure of Em Kt Graeme Hutchinson PGtHerald Provincial Prior, was of particular interest to the Durham Knights as Em Kt Graeme, was and is a Spennymoor Mason, but who through work had joined Derbyshire Freemasonry rising to PPrJGW in the Craft, PPrSGW in the Mark Degree to name but a few and of course Past Provincial Vice Chancellor and from today Provincial Sub Prior. Retiring to enjoy a festive board of Prawn Cocktail, Breast of Chicken in a Chasseur Sauce with Carrots, Broccoli, French Beans and Potatoes, followed by Apple and Blackberry Pie served with Cream and concluding with Cheeses and Biscuits not only excellent, but wonderfully presented in most convivial company.
