DEADLINES:

Prezi Presentations will take place on __________
RESEARCH:
1. Each member of the group is responsible for finding at least one source.
2. Each member of the group will be required to turn their own works cited page containing at least three
citations that he or she has created. Each group member’s works cited page may contain the same
sources as his or her partners, but each individual student is still responsible for creating his or her own
copy.
3. Once each member has found a source and shared it, read through them and establish how to divide
up the presentation into three main details to define/explain the topic.
4. Each group member will then proceed to research their individual main (broad) detail on their own.
You may only use resources found on INFOhio. No Wikipedia. No Google searches. No exceptions.
Suggested Databases:
 Literary Reference Center: use the “Advanced Search,” full text only searches, filters, and other
features to narrow results.
 World Book: This is an online encyclopedia, so it will contain basic background information. This
source will be more helpful to some than others.
PRESENTATION:
1. Introduce the topic and its significance; preview the main (broad) details
2. Each member will present one main (broad) detail to define/explain the topic. For each main detail,
be sure to have at least three supporting (specific) details.
3. Conclusion should answer one of the following questions:
 How does the topic differ from the way things are in modern times?
 How does the topic relate to our early understanding of The Count of Monte Cristo?
VISUAL:
Each member of your group will contribute to the Prezi presentation.
1. Each speaker must have an image
2. Images should be chosen in an effort to enhance the audience’s understanding, not just because they were the
first results on a Google image search. As you present, be sure to utilize the visual or explain why it was
selected.
3. Text may accompany images, but it must be kept to a minimum (10 word or less per “slide”)
You may…
o label your image.
o include 3 bullet points to prompt you during your
presentation, but you are limited to 10 words total.
4. Your Prezi should have a minimum of 6 slides on the “path” per person (18 for 3 person, 24 for 4 person)

Research to Build and Present Knowledge
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.7 Conduct short as well as more sustained research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question)
or solve a problem; narrow or broaden the inquiry when appropriate; synthesize multiple sources on the subject, demonstrating understanding of the
subject under investigation.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.8 Gather relevant information from multiple authoritative print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively;
assess the usefulness of each source in answering the research question; integrate information into the text selectively to maintain the flow of ideas,
avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation.
Presentation of Knowledge and Ideas
