FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 2, 2011 Information Contact: Colleen Malek, Marketing Toyo Ink America, LLC Printing Ink Division (630) 930-5100 Toyo Ink America to Exhibit the Latest Flexographic and Gravure Inks at InfoFlex 2011 ADDISON, Ill. — InfoFlex packs a wealth of information and product demonstrations into two days, and Toyo Ink America plans to make the most of every minute. To reinforce its relationship with flexographic printers, Toyo Ink is showcasing the latest developments in flexo and gravure inks from its broad product line during the Flexographic Technical Association InfoFlex 2011 conference, May 2-3 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Booth presentations built around the theme “History, Technology, Innovation” will underscore Toyo Ink’s longevity and expertise in developing products that outperform the competition in all graphics-related flexo print categories. Printers in the flexible packaging, folding carton, bag, foil and label printing markets who are looking to add value and services while enjoying a great return on their investment can learn more about the company’s powerful, performance-driven products. “Advances in flexographic printing have enabled printers to achieve higher levels of quality,” said John Copeland, division president of Toyo Ink America’s printing ink division. “Printers have countless options when it comes to project design and style. Selecting the right ink can make all the difference in the visual impact of the printed piece.” At InfoFlex, Toyo Ink will emphasize performance benefits from its portfolio of more than 20 flexo and gravure inks, including the latest formulations for printing on film and paper substrates. Water-based surface film inks Polytech is formulated exclusively for clean-running applications on high-density polyethylene substrates. Polytech’s high-pigment load is a popular choice for producing strong glossy images on HDPE garment and T-shirt bags. It has low, stable viscosity and good flow. Polychip PC3 is made from high-gloss chips and dispersions. Formulated primarily for low-density polyethylene substrates, Polychip PC3 also is successful on polypropylene and polyester. It gives printers the ability to achieve high gloss at maximum strength for high-end applications. Versafilm offers enhanced stability for coated non-porous substrates printed on narrow-web presses. Printers not only want high color density and image quality, but they also are greatly concerned with mitigating the environmental impacts of their operations. Versafilm is formulated to be low in volatile organic compounds. It has a high pigment load and maintains low, consistent viscosity. Water-based lamination ink Densiflex 9 is formulated for superb color strength, high printing speeds and good adhesion to a wide range of film substrates. Densiflex 9 prints on PET, polypropylene, LDPE and other films without a cross-linker or additives. It exhibits excellent bond values with water-based and solventless adhesives. Solvent-based surface film inks Starflex excels at high-speed printing of polyolefin substrates. Utilizing the latest resin and pigment technology, Starflex delivers superior gloss, color strength and scuff resistance. Proshine is a nitrocellulose-based blendable ink developed for high-speed printing of polyolefin substrates in applications characterized by medium heat resistance. It enables fine process printing and clean running of fine type and screen applications. Proshine exhibits high gloss and excellent scuff resistance. Solvent-based lamination inks Bondwiser ensures clean flexographic printing, good adhesion on multiple film types and extremely low solvent retention and odor. It works well with water-based, solvent-based and especially solventless adhesives. Its nitrocellulose base delivers high color strength. Flexiversal, an almost universal ink system, can run as a lamination ink and, after the addition of a wax compound, as a surface ink. Recommended for both adhesive and primed extrusion lamination, it boasts excellent color strength and stability. Solvent-based gravure inks Pyrotech II features excellent adhesion, gloss and heat resistance. Printers will like its compatibility with a wide variety of film substrates and ability to accommodate applications requiring high heat resistance and high heat-seal conditions. Pyrotech II offers excellent chemical resistance as well. LioValue™ meets the demand for high-performance lamination ink. For general purpose or retort pouch packaging, LioValue™ delivers unparalleled color and printability on a broad variety of substrates. Water-based paper inks AquaPrime easily handles the requirements of coated and uncoated paper substrates used in narrow-web and wide-web printing. It runs clean longer and produces fine type on folding cartons, kraft paper, envelopes and many non-porous films. Econotech is intended for use with 300-line anilox rolls. It runs very clean and performs extremely well for fine-line printing on kraft, SBS, recycled board and coated envelope substrates. Dynatech is designed for thermal transfer and direct thermal printing applications. It is made from heat-resistant resins for excellent jaw release and no picking. Dynatech is formulated for doctor-bladed high-line/low-volume anilox rolls. Gravure inks for paper printing Rototech is a water-based blendable ink developed for high-speed printing on paper, folding cartons and non-porous substrates. Rotocore is a solvent-based ink for paper, board and folding cartons. “Whatever the job requirement, whether it be film, paper, water-based or solvent-based printing, Toyo Ink offers the best solution,” Copeland said. “With our local manufacturing, research and digitized color-matching capabilities, our inks meet customers’ demands for vibrancy, consistency and reliability. What’s more, all of our products are supported by a unique network of distributors, pressroom specialists and sales experts.” To experience the complete line of inks, adhesive and film products for highspeed flexible packaging applications, visit the Toyo Ink America exhibition area (booth #1037/1039) at InfoFlex 2011, May 2-3 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
