Important Guidelines for Application

This form is to be used by a Professional Engineer who is applying to be an Accredited Checker for the first time.

Applicant should have after registration as a PE(civil/structural), practical experience in the design and construction of buildings in
Singapore at a professional level for a period not less than 10 years.

Applicant should have experience in the design and supervision of major complex structures such as long-span bridges, viaducts,
structures with unconventional or curvilinear geometry e.g. dome or arch-shaped structures, and/or high-rise buildings, preferably
10-storey and above. In addition, applicant should also have experience in the design and supervision of precast, prestressed and
steel structures.

Applicant must sign as the project QP and the project must be completed before his/her experience can be recognised.

Overseas design experience in highrise buildings must be substantiated with proper documents and certifications to prove that
the applicant did the actual structural design.

The Commissioner of Building Control may require the applicant to undergo an interview to determine whether the applicant
has acquired the requisite practical experience.

Applicant will be notified on the outcome of the application. If you are successful, you can register either as an Accredited
Checker or as Accredited Checker in an Accredited Checking Organisation provided you fulfill the other necessary
requirements.
