Moe, Dan and Troy had a good visit with Charlie
Spencer at Windsor House. Charlie’s 92nd birthday
was April 16th and our visit was on Tuesday the 20th
with a chocolate birthday cake. Charlie said, “You
don’t know how much I appreciate your visit.”
Charlie enjoyed the birthday cake as you can see

charged – Mike McNelis is preparing Barbecue
Chicken, so come and enjoy the food. fun and
fellowship. This is an excellent time to invite
prospective members – something has been
mentioned about having a horse shoe pitching
contest and other activities to enjoy the beautiful
outdoors in a quiet setting.

Thanks to Pepper, Todd, Ted, Ed and Troy for making the
Pizza Party for the Participants and teachers a huge
success. As you can see from the photos below they
enjoyed the pizza and receiving the framed certificates.
Ted told his story about the ‘fire balls’ he and his friends
would make and throw to one another as kids. Ted grew
up on the Mill Hill in Pacolet. Some seemed anxious to try
it, but he warned them to make sure they were not around
flammable material.

Dan reported that Logan and Darian, our Club
Oratorical Contest winners did well at the District
Contest on April 24th. We had hopes that they would
be in the winner’s bracket, but they received
beautiful plaques and represented our Club well.

Thanks to Mike McNelis, Moe and Melvin for
adding additional poles to the section along the
entrance where vehicles have been entering the O.A.
Property. Johnny Strickland reported that when he
and his son, Taylor went down to mow grass on Sat.
the 17th they found beer cans and trash and also live
coals from the fire blazed up while they were
working there. Mike has contacted Sheriff Wright
and the Dept. of Natural Resources and O.A.
Pepper presents Brianna
Crayton, our first place winner with her certificate and the $100.00
in cash – he also presented certificates to Jane Enabore and her
$50.00 for 2nd place and $25.00 and certificate to Victoria Duncan
for 3rd place. Todd Young presented other participants with their
certificates.

kitchen with additional pads.
