AGM:
Notice is hereby given that the AGM for the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Limited WA Branch will take
place on the 14th April 2010, at Odgens Hotel in Gosnells commencing at 7:30pm sharp.
REMINDER: **RPSBS Promotional Publications 2010**
Each year the RPSBS National office run an advert to promote winners from each state. Each state supplies a
photo of a riding pony from the state that must have 3 recent major wins. The pony from each state can be
youngstock / senior show hunter or show pony. Each pony chosen from a state must be nominated to the state
committee and be approved and passed at committee meeting. 2009 will see the RPSBS continue with
promotional publications but they will be utilising other magazines such as Horse Scene, and Equestrian Life also.
We welcome members who wish to nominate their registered Riding pony to contact Amanda Taylor
tallarookpark@bigpond.com as publicity officer who will ensure your pony is considered at the next committee
meeting. Owners need to supply a photo of professional standard of your pony without a rug and photos must be
of top quality and permission from photographer must accompany your submission. Please note that we already
have enough ponies for 2009 advertising; however at the end of this season don’t hesitate to send in your pony
for 2010.

Westlake Living Doll & Joanne Endersby – 4th Open Large Pony
Allambie Park First Impressions & Holly Broadwith – 3rd Open Galloway
Beckworth Royal Music – Gratz Family – Small Pony & leading Rein Finalist
Grand Nationals:
There are a number of Western Australian Riding Ponies heading over to compete at the Grand Nationals. We
wish you all the best and good luck with your upcoming competition. A full report and results will be posted in the
next newsletter.
Success on the East Coast: There have been some wonderful results from our Western Australian Riding ponies and their success on the east
coast, this Newsletter will feature two, Westlake Living Doll and Leeara Park First Edition.
Westlake Living Doll
Owned by Robyn and Joanne Endersby
In December of last year, we Robyn & I took Westlake Living Doll to Werribee in Victoria to compete at the
Equestrian Australia National Show Horse competition. Unfortunately Living Doll suffered an injury whilst at the
show and even though she competed she certainly wasn’t at her fighting best. She finished a very respectable 4 th
in an extremely strong line up of ponies.
Due to her injury the decision, on vet’s advice, was to leave Lindy in Victoria until she’d recovered well enough to
travel home. Simon De Leeuw’s and Kellie Withers were kind enough to take Lindy on very short notice and at
that point Robyn and I decided we may as well take advantage of the situation and enter her in some events early
in 2010 prior to her competing at Grand Nationals.
I flew to Victoria on the 14th February and headed straight to Werribee where the national Riding Pony show was
underway. Living Doll only competed in one event where she was awarded Runner Up National RP Newcomer.
The following week was Barastock HOTY. There were nearly 70 large ponies entered in the open Large Pony
event. Lindy put on a fantastic show and was top ten Barastock Large Pony of the Year. I would recommend to
anyone that gets the opportunity to attend this show that they take it, as it is fantastic!!! A very well run event
with something for everyone.
Two days after this we headed to Canberra for their royal show. There were 90 entries over the 3 large pony
heights. Lindy won her height class and then the following day won the highly contested Champion Large Pony
award!!!!! She took all in her stride as normal and turned in a great workout.
Her next competition is Grand Nationals which is run at the end of March. After this she will be returning to WA
for a well deserved break!!!
Big thanks must go to Dianne Broadwith, Peta Booker, James Mullen, Ben Williams, Simon De Leeuw and Kellie
Withers. We certainly couldn’t have done this without there help and support!!!
Leeara Park First Edition
Owned by Brittany & Caris Reside
In February 2010, we decided to truck Leo over with Notables to Victoria in order to compete at the 2010 Riding
Pony Nationals. We cannot thank Notable enough for the wonderful job they did with Leo and are very proud to
be sponsored by them.
Brittany and I flew in a few days before the show, not knowing what Leo looked like or was working like. We were
thrilled when he looked an absolute treat and was working beautifully. Leo is staying with Maggie Lees from
Sefton Stud, and she has done a brilliant job of keeping Leo looking at his best.
Once at the show at Werribee, Leo was as usual, beautifully behaved. Prior to the show, we had organised
through Bree Petrie for one of her pupils to ride Leo in the Childs Pony classes.
Bronte only rode Leo 5 minutes before the class, with Bree commenting ‘this is a true child’s pony, but still with so
much pizzazz and presence’. We were thrilled with such a lovely comment, considering Leo is still only 4.
Leo’s first class was the National Ridden Childs Pony 12.2 – 13hh, where together they were awarded Champion
against some very tough and seasoned Children's ponies.
He then qualified for the National Supreme Champion Childs Ridden Riding Pony, against the National Champion
Childs Pony up to 12.2 (Silkwood Angel Wings) and the National Champion Childs Pony 13.2hh-14.2hh (After
Midnight of Astral).
To our upmost delight, Leo and Bronte were awarded Supreme Champion under Judge Ms Joanne Prestwidge.
What a wonderful achievement for both pony and rider.
Leo was suppose to be attending Canberra Royal, but due to not being allocated a stable, this was simply
impossible. He will attend Grand Nationals where we wish him and Bronte the very best of luck.
We must thank Maggie Lees for the wonderful job she has done with looking after our Golden Pony, Bree Petrie
for all the help at the Nationals, Bronte Monaghan who rode Leo to perfection, our parents and everyone else
that has helped and supported us with this amazing pony along the way.
Leo is currently being offered for sale so please contact the stud for more details.
Stud News:
GLOMAX STUD:
Our highly decorated Small Hack Glomax Countryman (Kira Royal Acclaim/Palace Gem) who is now owned by
Louise Holland has made the trek to Sydney to compete at the Grand Nationals and Sydney Royal in the Small
Hack and Louise’s Rider Class (which she won last year). We would like to wish Louise and ‘Broadie’ all the best for
a safe trip and look forward to hearing about their East Coast adventures.
Glomax Maytime (Weston Park Chaucer/Glomax Mayfair) debut at the recent Riding Pony Showcase. She
behaved beautifully and was awarded Champion WA Bred 3yo and Reserve Champion Arabian Riding Pony.
Glomax Maytime is currently in foal to Beckworth Rising Shadow and this foal is eagerly awaited. She is due early
October and once weaned Maytime will then encounter a ridden career in 2011.
Glomax Messiah recently competed at the Week 4 of the Summer Series in the Pony Dressage (ridden by Tracey
Karmelich). For his first ever competition he behaved beautifully and scored 65% and a 2nd place in the
Preliminary Pony Section. He will be out and about shortly in the Galloway ring and further Dressage
competitions.
We have recently acquired a new Broodmare for the Stud. Jackpot Jackie is a 16hd chestnut TB by the Show Horse
Sire Dr Johnson. Jackpot Jackie is currently in foal to Kira Royal Acclaim (sire of Glomax Countryman/Glomax
Memphis) and due early December. We look forward to this foal which should be a Galloway of the future.
Photos and updates can be found on our website www.glomaxstud.com
THORNE PARK NEWS:
With 2010 now in full swing, things are starting to get busy at Thorne Park. Our 2009 breeding season produced
three exceptional foals. The five times Grand National Qualifying and 2010 Runner-up Broodmare of the Year,
Blandford Dancing Queen certainly did not disappoint giving a stunning chestnut filly by Royal Show Champion
producing sire Myscal Encore via AI. Thorne Parks Dance Folly AI is all class and type with a scopey front, beautiful
movement and a temperament to die for. She will stay at the stud this season, but may be for sale in the future.
Dancing Queens’s 2006 colt Thorne Parks Song & Dance produced us our second foal for 2009. This is the only foal
ever born from this colt, who was gelded due to infertility. The stunning Thorne Parks Songbird is out of the
elegant Welsh A Mare Kazoo Lodge Anna Karina. This filly is a perfect mix of the pony welsh A and the typey
Riding Pony of Song & Dance. She will mature under 12hh and we hope she will be a future pony for Erin. She is
very flashy with four white socks and the most unusual face marking we have ever seen and she has the most
amazing movement for such a little thing. She will make her show ring debut at the Welsh Youngstock feature in
March.
Finally, our gorgeous Galloway mare Kinlieth Primadonna produced a sensational colt for Jean Passchier of the
Jejucha stud by her resident sire Woranora Trademark. This colt, named Jejucha Tribute is a truly magnificent
pony. With his stunning dark brown colour, two front white socks and large blaze, he will certainly turn some
heads in the future in hand and under saddle.
The breeding season threw up some challenges for the stud with a few missed cycles, but we are happy to report
we safely have two foals due with another imminent preg test. Blandford Dancing Queen and our exceptional
proven broodmare Glyndebourne Morticia have both been confirmed in foal the Stanley Grange Cocksure (UK)
via frozen semen. Cocksure is owned by Jerome Harforth of the Stanley Grange Stud in England and is proving to
be a major force on the English Show Scene both himself and his stock. We can not wait to see what the resulting
foals will be like. A huge thankyou must go the fantastic care we get from our vet Michael Proctor of Oakford
Equine, who, without him and his expertise, we wouldn’t have so much success with Chilled and frozen breeding.
And the latest news as of the 11th of March is our exciting purchase of the UK Mare Diptford Amazing Grace is to
be covered today by Cusop Dimension and the next couple of weeks will agony to find out whether she is
confirmed in foal. If all goes to plan, she will go into quarantine early April and will make the flight to Australia at
the end of that month. We are so excited now things seem so close and can’t wait to have her here.
Sadly Kinlieth Primadonna missed two cycles to the exciting young stallion Penmain Heir Apparent owned by
Mavis Dilley of the Gordon Park Stud. It seems Primadonna may not be a candidate for foal to foal breeding as she
had her colt at foot. But thankfully, Mavis has kindly said Prim can return early in the 2010 breeding season and
we hope we will get this much anticipated foal. We can not thank Mavis enough for going out of her way for us to
try and get this foal.
Our colt, Ascot Magnum Silk will also be attending the Welsh Youngstock show in March, but then a quiet year is
planned with him leading up to his first breeding season.
As I am sure many people know, 2009 ended is devastating form for Thorne Park, with the loss of our exceptional
2 year filly Thorne Parks Little Darling AI (Rotherwood Peter Pan (UK) x Glyndebourne Morticia). This filly was all
type, had the breeding we so loved and was set to be a major influence on our stud. With her ridden career being
so imminent, we could not believe how unfortunate we were to lose her. But we are happy to report, that all
going to plan, her dam Glyndebourne Morticia will again be crossed with Peter Pan and hopefully we can get
another sensational pony. A huge thankyou must go to Elizabeth Mansfield of the Rotherwood Stud UK for this
opportunity to reproduce this cross.
2010 is certain to be a better year for the stud. With Amazing Grace arriving from the UK, two stunning UK bred
foals on the way and some beautiful ponies in show prep, we can not wait to see what the year holds. And don’t
forget to visit our website www.thorneparkstud.com for regular updates.
WESSWOODS:
There was great excitement when we got the news that Wesswood Royal Caste et ( Robbie ) was EFA National
Runner Up Galloway of the Year 2009. (Pictured)
He is now owned by Ashley Reid
and produced by Daryll & Lynda Hayes who also have our black gelding Wesswoods Mastercaste et. He has just
been broken in by David McKay who has taken a great liking to him and assures us that he is a future National
horse. Matt is a ¾ brother to Robbie. Our other Victorian export is WW Classic Caste et, presently being produced
by Briony Payne. CC is a small galloway, who in her short career has amassed 6 champions and 2 reserves in open
company and is qualified for all major shows. Briony says she is a no fuss, no lunge, genuinely quiet childs
Galloway for anyone wanting a safe mount for their child, and she is on the market. Anna Duffy is producing WW
Starcaste et for us here in WA and has been won over by Sammis’ big movement and nice nature – another future
Champion in the making and is also on the market to hopefully a show home. All the above horses are out of our
beautiful old Three time National Galloway Pure Caste. The very Beautiful Oakvale Serenade filly WW Supacaste
et (Sophie) is residing with my daughter Melinda at Beechwood Stud SA and has a stunning bay filly by
Sandbourne Royal Ensign (imp). She will start her show career after the foal is weaned. Sophies’ full brother is a
rising 3yo WW Magic Caste et and is set to turn heads when he eventually graces the show ring but for now he
has to look after Mum as he is her last baby. Julie & Malc Klante.
KELLADEE PARK NEWS:
As we enter 2010 with our recent purchase of Rosedale Eton (Colbeach Simone Imp x Kolbeach Sensational), we
couldn’t wait to attend our first show for the year, WA’s annual Riding Pony Showcase. Battling the heat wave
Eton displayed his beautiful true to type riding pony temperament to take out Champion 2yr old Youngstock.
(Pictured)
Eton is an absolute delight to have around the stables where he attracts the attention of all human passerby’s’.
Eton is standing to public stud for the 2010 season with an introductory service fee of $1250 plus costs.
As we await this years foals by Eton we had a tragic loss of our favorite mare Summer Nights (Rivlyn Dreams x Kira
Royal Acclaim). Summer never made it out under saddle but was Runner up 3yr RP OTY 2006 and had many
numerous RP Champions to her name. Our sweet Black mare Kelladee Park Dark Selection is our only other mare
to be in foal to Eton at this time.
Kelladee Park would like to Congratulate Highcroft Riding Ponies on there Recent Win with Rosedale Lords
(Colbeach Simone Imp x Kolbeach Sensational) National RP Stallion.
We wish you all the best for the 2010 show season, be safe and happy riding
WILDWOOD STUD NEWS:
There hasn’t been a great deal happening at Wildwood in the past few months due to the impending birth of my
first 2 legged child.
We did have a rather exciting foaling season, however, with the birth of Melody Park Valentino’s first 2 foals. The
first being a bay colt out of St. Clares Bvlgari (Langtree Walkabout/ Newington Bellarina) and the second a bay filly
out of Mirinda Illusion (Rotherwood Acrobat*/ Mirinda Simplicity). Both were born within a week of each other
and are spitting images of their father. To say I’m very pleased with both of them is an understatement!
We have also been downsizing quite a bit as I figured I wouldn’t have as much time as I used to with the new
baby. Wildwood Scarlet Tribute has found a new home with Celeste Mills and I look forward to seeing these two
out in the show ring this year. Wildwood Midnight Serenade, Wildwood Sugarcane and Wildwood Rembrandt
have also found new homes and it will be exciting to see them out soon with their new owners too.
Wishing everyone a successful 2010 show season
YARTARLA PARK AND GEM PARK STUD NEWS
WOW we can’t believe yet another breeding season is over and that we are into the 2010 show season!!!
We are so pleased with the babies we’ve had foaled in the 2009/2010 season. There are certainly many show
stoppers amongst them.
October saw the running of the Show Horse Council HOTY event. Gordon Park Supanova, Allambie Park First
Impressions & Westlake Living Doll all won their respective open sections much to our delight. Gem Park
Rembrandt was top ten Large Pony of the year and Yartarla Park Louis Vuitton who was only competing at his 5 th
show was sashed Runner Up Small POTY.
Beckworth Magic Fragrance travelled back at the end of November to her owners at Beckworth stud after having
been in WA since she was weaned. We thank Beckworth stud for allowing us to have this lovely mare.
February was very busy, in early February we ran an open day, which was a great success. We had nearly 100
people attend the event. As a result we sold some 7 horses (Yartarla Park Fantasy, Gem Park Tinkerbell, Gem
Park Prudence, Gem Park Socialite, Gem Park Picture Me, Gem Park Diplomat and Yartarla Park On Show) all too
fabulous homes. We still have many beautiful ponies for sale ranging from foals to broken in 2 year olds. For
anyone wanting their next superstar please feel free to contact us to arrange a visit.
The weekend after the open day we both travelled to Victoria as Dianne was asked to judge the prestigious
National RP show. We both had a fantastic time and it was great to see what is being bred in the east.
Late February saw us attend the WA Riding Pony Show, Gem Park took 4 ponies that all did very well. We ended
up with the following results;

Gem Park Diplomat (Beckworth Rising Shadow x Langtree Wild Romance) Yearling Riding Pony OTY, Best
WA Bred Exhibit and Grand Champion Led Exhibit

Gem Park Patience (Beckworth Rising Shadow x Gem Park Finesse) Runner up Yearling Riding Pony OTY,
Runner up Best WA Bred Exhibit

Gem Park Heiress (Yartarla Park Chipmonk x Langtree First Impressions) Two Year Old Riding Pony OTY,
Best WA Bred 2 Year old

Gem Park Mighty Mouse (Yartarla Park Chipmonk x Judaroo Phillipa) winner of the Part Welsh yearling
colt class
Yartarla Park has recently purchased two geldings from Beckworth stud. Beckworth Royal Finale who was
purchased in conjunction with Angela Connor and Beckworth Commanding Acclaim. We are currently breaking
these boys in and are excited about their future. They will be out and about soon!!!
Westlake Living Doll has been flying the flag successfully in the east. She was runner up National RP newcomer,
Top Ten Barastock Large Pony of the Year and Champion Large Pony at Canberra Royal Show. She will now
compete at Grand Nationals prior to heading home here in WA.
Congratulations must go to the connections of Gem Park Orlando and Gem Park Prudence who have been
competing extremely well in NSW, well done!!!!
Finally we wish all our clients and friends the very best for the 2010 season. We look forward to seeing you all out
and about showing soon!!!!
Dianne Broadwith & Eileen Morris
GORDON PARK NEWS:
Welcome everyone to another season!!! We are glad to have the breeding season behind us, as usually it was
very busy and we are looking forward to seeing what the 2010 crop of foals brings us.
The beautifully bred Penmain Heir Apparent (Sanbourne Royal Ensign IMP x Sufton Wild Rose IMP) has his first
foals on the way – we are so excited to see what this lovely colt produces.
In November we ran an open day which was a great success. We paraded the three stallions twice so our visitors
could see the boys in action. We offered many youngsters and broodmares for sale and the following lovely
ponies all found new homes;

Weanling filly (Oakvale Serenade x Sophies World) full sister to GP Masquerade, GP Concerto & GP
Supanova

Weanling gelding (Oakvale Serenade x Westlake Enchantment)

Weanling colt (Oakvale Serenade x Willowcroft Tiffany) Full brother to Willowcroft Silk

GP Hot Obsession – full sister to GP Hot Copy, GP Hot Gossip & GP Hot Prospect

Willowcroft Total Eclipse (Willowcroft Regal Emblem x Willowcroft Regal Graces)
Everyone seemed to enjoy the day; we had great weather, plenty of cakes, drinks, sausage sizzle and a bouncy
castle for the kids.
Thankyou to everyone who helped make this day a success, we fully intend to make this a regular event and look
forward to seeing you all this year!!!
Also sold in November was GP Royal Review. Stella had a fantastic first season under saddle and was proudly
purchased by Donna McNally. Donna has started the season well with Stella already having racked up a champion
and reserve.
GP Philadelphia and GP Model both safely made the long trek to their new home in NSW.
Amanda Taylor has just purchased the very flashy palomino colt (a full brother to her well-performed Gordon Park
Music Box) by Oakvale Serenade out of the super mare Wendamar Trinket,
We with all the new owners of these lovely horses every success in the future!!!
GP Hot Copy, GP Hot Gossip & Willowcroft Silk are flying the flag for us in NSW with Sandra Henry. All these girls
are doing extremely well; they have just commenced their saddle careers. GP Hot Gossip was recently sashed
Best Novice at Ballarat Royal. We thank Sandra for her time and effort with these ponies!!!!
We still have many ponies, Galloways & broodmares for sale. We welcome anyone looking for their new
superstar to contact us and arrange a visit.
Finally we wish all our clients and friends a safe and happy 2010!!!
Mavis and Leon Dilly
LEEARA PARK NEWS:
We have had a great start to 2010 here at Leeara Park.
Leeara Park First Edition headed east in early February to compete at the Riding Pony Nationals. He was in the top
three in both his ridden and led classes. His final class of the show was the National Champion Childs Pony 12.2hh
- 13.2hh, which he was awarded Champion and topped it off with National Supreme Champion Childs Ridden
Riding Pony. We couldn’t have been more proud, all at the tender age of 4! Leo is currently being offered for sale
and will be competing at the Grand Nationals.
We then flew home to attend our WA Riding Pony Show where we were thrilled when Leeara Park Peter Pan
(Royal and Regal of Sefton X Weatherley Figurine) was awarded Champion Foal and Champion WA Bred Foal. This
making it three in a row for our resident stallion, Royal and Regal of Sefton.
A huge congratulation to Raelene and Brooke Anthony with Leeara Park Fairy Wings (Wendamar Figaro x
Weatherley Figurine) being awarded Supreme Champion Youngstock Hunter Riding Pony under Mr Raymond
Butler.
We have two weanlings currently on the market, a black buckskin colt who is full brother to Royal Petite and
Birthday Girl and half brother to First Edition and a black/brown galloway colt out of Bella Darma. Both are all
quality and we are looking for top show homes to purchase these special boys. Please contact the stud for more
details.
Unfortunately due to Rolle's second Colic Operation, we don’t have any foals due by Rolle this year. Although, we
would like to thank Maggie Lees from Sefton Stud for allowing to us to use Dresden Ace of Spades which has
resulted in a PPT with Kirreway Electra. We are eagerly awaiting this cross. Electra is due in November.
Rolle will be standing at Leeara Park for the 2010/11 Season and is also available for fresh, chilled and frozen AI.
We are now able to update our website regularly with updates and pictures, so please check out our website
www.leearaparkridingponies.com.au
Good Luck to everyone in 2010 season.
Caris & Britt Reside
KIRRALEA SHOW PONIES NEWS:
Well, we have certainly run over the proverbial “Chinaman”. After having Kirralea Catwalk injure herself in the
beginning of 2009, our 4 year old Show Hunter Galloway Kirralea Chantilly (Oakvale Serenade x K.Cameo) who
was ready to make her show ring debut this year has injured her fetlock joint and cannot be used as a saddle
horse – so we have another broody for the paddock. The devastating news continues, as we were on our way
home from EWA Novice/Intermediate show on March 14th, we received a frantic call from our neighbours only to
be told our colt foal Kirralea Chatterbox (Kira Royal Acclaim/K.Cadence) had gone through the fence and was
injured. By that time we were 15 minutes away from home and to drive in the driveway to see the neighbours
holding poor little Joey up was devastating. He had badly cut his hind leg and severed both tendons just below
the hock and was walking on his fetlock joint. The vet arrived shortly after and unfortunately had to put him
down. He had recently competed at the Riding Pony Show taking out Reserve Champion Foal, sadly this will be
his only achievement.
On a much brighter note, both Kirralea Countess (Syon Royal Portrait/K.Classic) and Kirralea Catwalk (Oakvale
Serenade/K.Classic) are in foal to Kira Royal Acclaim. We eagerly await their safe and healthy arrivals towards the
end of the year.
At the recent Riding Pony Showcase held at Brigadoon in February, K. Cadence was sashed Broodmare of the Year
for the 2nd time. She has had an amazing show career being the only Riding Pony in this state to have won all
Riding Pony awards from a youngster through to a broodmare, which include Supreme Youngstock of The Year,
Led Senior Show Pony of the Year, Ridden Pony Newcomer of the Year (ineligible for the Ridden Show Pony of the
Year as she was a Newcomer), Champion Show Pony Ridden under 13.2hh as well as being twice Broodmare of
the Year in 2008 & 2010. Cadence has also won Champion Riding Pony Mare 3 times at the Perth Royal.
With exciting news that 2010 Perth Royal will now see open pony classes we have decided to keep K.Celebration
for another season, otherwise I would not have had a large pony to compete on. Celebration has now completed
3 dressage tests at the EWA Summer Series and in his 2nd test was placed 2nd from 28 competitors scoring 65% so I
am looking forward to doing more dressage with him this year. His first show this season saw him take out
Champion Large Pony at Gosnells with Shanarra Beresi aboard.
Kayla Fletcher has been competing over the last few years on K.Showtalk (Langtree Parisienne/Sanlirra
Silhouette). She has done a wonderful job with this pony and now moving onto ODE’s. At his 1 st event they were
holding 1st place after the dressage and showjumping and although going clear in the cross country they incurred
a few time penalties so finishing an overall 7th. A great result for their first attempt and he went around at a
lovely controlled pace. Danny is for sale, and would be perfect for an enthusiastic child or adult wanting an all
round, well educated pony. For genuine enquires please contact us (9525 4542) or Kayla & Di Fletcher (9524
1291).
Our 3 year old small pony K.China Doll (Vale Park Spotlight/K.Cadence) made her debut at the end of 2009 season
taking out Champion Small Pony at Osborne Park Ag Show and Reserve Small Pony at Gosnells Christmas Show.
Thanks again to Shani as she & Celebration are now qualified for the royal. We are currently working with a
young rider that hopefully show Bella at EWA Horse of the Year and the Royal for us.
From Kirralea Show Ponies we wish all competitors success for 2010.
