RPSBS WA Committee: If any of our WA members would like to join our Committee, please email rpsbswa@live.com.au. As a committee with only 6 members, it is very difficult to continue to run shows and keep our Society going. As a committee, we meet usually once a month in Gosnells and it is a very friendly and productive atmosphere. We would like to continue to expand our Society here in WA, in ways of the website, advertising, sponsorship and shows and we would greatly appreciate some extra help. REMINDER: **RPSBS Promotional Publications 2011** Each year the RPSBS National office run an advert to promote winners from each state. Each state supplies a photo of a riding pony from the state that must have 3 recent major wins. The pony from each state can be youngstock / senior show hunter or show pony. Each pony chosen from a state must be nominated to the state committee and be approved and passed at committee meeting. 2009 will see the RPSBS continue with promotional publications but they will be utilising other magazines such as Horse Scene, and Equestrian Life also. We welcome members who wish to nominate their registered Riding pony to contact Caris Reside at rpsbswa@live.com.au as publicity officer who will ensure your pony is considered at the next committee meeting. Owners need to supply a photo of professional standard of your pony without a rug and photos must be of top quality and permission from photographer must accompany your submission. Please note that we already have enough ponies for 2010 advertising; however at the end of this season don’t hesitate to send in your pony for 2011. Stud News: THORNE PARK NEWS: Thorne Park’s 2010 had exciting show prospects, foals and new ponies and it’s approaching the business end, breeding season. Diptford Amazing Grace arrived in Australia in June and is now happily pregnant in our paddock. She had an intensive six weeks under saddle with Anna Duffy, and we had our breath taken away, and we can see why she has had so much success. Foaling season started with an English feel. Glyndebourne Morticia had an exceptional bay colt by Stanley Grange Cocksure (UK). Named TP Charmed I’m Sure, this stunning colt will be a future Galloway and will be for sale come weaning. We are now AI’ing Morticia to Rotherwood Peter Pan (UK) for another star like TP Little Darling who we lost in December 2009. Due December is five times GN qualifier Blandford Dancing Queen who is also in foal to Cocksure. With Sire and Dam both under 12.2hh, this should be an amazing future small pony. This one may be on the market, or may also be retained as a star for Erin. Finally, Diptford Amazing Grace IMP, will produce the first foal ever born in Australia by Cusop Dimension. Sadly, with lack of room, facilities and issues with promoting a stallion of this calibre from WA, a colt will more than likely go on the market, but a filly will be VERY difficult to buy. TP Songbird is enjoying a well earned rest after her 2010 campaign. She attended five shows for three SOS awards. Ascot Magnum Silk has served two mares and after collecting from him to freeze, his sale will be complete and Dancing Queens top filly from 2009 will be available for sale come summer. Visitors are always welcome and please visit our website www.thorneparkstud.com or search Thorne Park on Facebook. YARTARLA PARK NEWS: Yartarla Park has had a busy few months, we are now in our new property which is in Oldbury. We had a great Perth Royal and were very pleased with 1st with YP Silhouette and 2nd with YP Panashe in the yearling RP Filly. YP Figurine was third in the 2 year old fillies. Westlake Gift Wrapped, owned by Karen Golding was 2nd in the 3 year old fillies. GP Patience won the foal futurity, reserve Champion WA Bred and reserve champion yearling. We have sold many ponies over the year and wish all the new owners every success with these gorgeous youngsters. Midway through the year, GP Silk suffered a bout of colic and required surgery – she pulled through and in August attended her first show where she was champion or reserve in all her breeds. We took her to the royal where she won her filly class. We took 7 ponies to the Royal, in RP's, our fillies GP Sugar Plum Fairy & GP Primadonna in the yearling class and came away with third and fourth. GP Larrikin was second in the yearling colt class and GP Patience was second in 2 year old RP filly class. CARONA PARK NEWS: We had a busy 2010 with a stable full of exquisite ponies and a busy schedule. All ponies looked amazing and performed impeccably for their riders at all the major events. After not qualifying for any interstate national competitions we have put all ponies out for a much needed break. It is with much optimism that all the children are riding again. We did finish off the show season on a good note having a successful weekend at the Riverside Festival of Hacks, with Beckworth Royal Music being sashed supreme led & ridden riding pony, she is an invaluable show pony for 8 year old Orleans and carried her to champion rider 12 & Under. Wendamar Feys Wicked Wizard & Otis were Champion Show Hunter, Silkwood Ribbons going Champion small pony and then be supreme pony of the show ridden by Sophie Jordan. At the WA All Welsh, Glamorvid Love Song prepared and produced by Carona Park was sashed champion first ridden pony professionally jockeyed by Orleans & supreme part welsh led, handled by Adam Vander Wal. YP Cotton Candy is all set for her 2011 newcomer season and has enjoyed success in her short time under saddle. We will have Carona Park stock in the ring next season with CP Fairy Footsteps making her saddle debut and are also planning for CP NV US to compete in some breed events early next season and hopefully stand at stud. To the bad news, on a sad note we lost our only foal of the season out of CP Regal Rose by YP Chipmonk in November, he was very beautiful and we called him Rupert. Onward and upward we are looking forward to a successful 2011 & happy showing. LEEARA PARK NEWS: Leeara Park has had wonderful 2010 season with our show team.
