INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION FOR THE
IDDRG 2016 CONFERENCE IN LINZ, AUSTRIA

ABSTRACT
This sample document (template) provides information on and instructions for preparation
of a paper for the IDDRG 2016 conference. The instructions in this document are written in
the expected format and this document can be used as a template for the paper. Please read
and follow the instructions carefully. Papers must be written in English with a maximum
length of eight (8) pages using Microsoft Word format. All author instructions can also be
found on and downloaded from the Author Area of the official web site of the IDDRG 2016
conference (www.iddrg2016.org). Styles in Microsoft Word have been used to allow for easy
formatting of each section and feature of the paper. If you have any problems or difficulties
please contact the organizers via email (iddrg2016@asmet.at).

1. INTRODUCTION
The paper should contain the following sections as appropriate: INTRODUCTION,
MATERIALS, EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE, RESULTS, DISCUSSION (or
RESULTS & DISCUSSION), CONCLUSIONS, (ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS if applicable),
and REFERENCES.
Use "A4" paper size (210 x 297 mm) (8.267 x 11.692 inches). Margins on the first page are:
38 mm (1.5 inches) at the top, 25 mm (0.984 inch) at the bottom, left and right side with 13 mm
(0.512 inch) header and footer. The first page must contain the IDDRG2016 Header (pre-set in
this template), Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), Abstract, and Keywords. On subsequent pages, the
margins are: 25 mm (0.984 inch) on all sides. Times New Roman font should be used
throughout the paper. Simply use the layout and styles in this template.
The IDDRG2016 Header (Header 1st Page style) is written only in the header of the first page
with 9pt, right aligned as shown in the first page (pre-set in this template). The header for the
subsequent pages (Header Continued style) will include the name of the authors, as shown on in this
template. The authors must edit this header to include their names.
The title of the paper should be written centered, in 14pt, bold Times New Roman, all capital
letters (PAPER TITLE style). It should be single spaced, if the title is more than one line long,
followed by a 24pt space.
Title should be followed by the Authors' names centered bold in 12pt followed by a 12pt
space (Author style), as shown in this template. Authors' affiliation(s) should be centered in 11pt
font (Affiliation style). An 11pt space separates the different affiliations, by use of a blank line.
The word ABSTRACT is all capitals and bold, above the first line of text with 12pt space
above and 6pt space below (HEADING 1 style). The text of the abstract is indented 6.3 mm
(0.25 inch) on the first line, full justification, single spaced, 12pt Times New Roman (Text style).
Please write at the maximum 8 keywords, describing the content of the paper. They should
not be indented, using 12pt Times New Roman (Keyword style) and the line must begin with the
words Keywords: boldfaced. A 12pt space should separate the keywords from the abstract.
The INTRODUCTION must begin on the second page, as shown in this template. A
summary of font types and sizes for different parts (titles, headings, paragraphs, captions, etc.) is
given below in Table 1.

2. MATERIALS
2.1
Main headings
The main headings are written left aligned, in 12pt, bold and all capital Times New Roman
font (HEADING 1 style). There is a 12pt space before and 6pt space after the main headings.
Each main heading should be appropriately numbered as shown in this template (e.g. 2.).
Automatic numbering has been turned off, so the number must be manually typed.
2.2
Secondary headings
Secondary headings are written left aligned, in 12pt bold Times New Roman. There should
be a 6pt space before and 6pt space after the secondary headings (Heading 2 style). Each
subheading should be given an appropriate decimal number as shown (e.g. 2.2). Automatic
numbering has been turned off, so the number must be manually typed.
2.3
Text paragraphs
The normal text paragraphs are written single-spaced, justified, using 12pt Times New
Roman fonts in one column. The first line of each paragraph is indented 6.3 mm (0.25 in) (Text
style). There should be no inter-paragraph spacing.
3. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
3.1
Figures
Figures are inserted into the text as shown in Figure 1. All figures should be numbered
consecutively and captioned. The figure is centered and is separated from the text by 12 pt space
(Figure style) The caption title is written centered, in 11pt Times New Roman italic fonts, as
shown in Figure 1 (Figure Caption style). The word Figure and the number should be bold. The
conference proceedings will be printed in black & white. If colored figures are used, please
ensure that the figures are comprehensible when printed on a black & white printer.

separate the Figure from the caption, and a 12pt space should separate the upper part of the figure and
the bottom of the caption from the surrounding text (Figure Caption style).

3.2
Tables
All tables should be numbered consecutively and captioned as shown in Table 1. A 6pt space
should separate the table from the caption, and a 12pt space should separate the table from the
surrounding text. The caption should be 11pt Times New Roman in italics (Table Caption style)
with the word Figure and the number in bold. The table text should be 10pt Times New Roman
(Table Text style).
3.3
Equations
Equations must be written using the equation editor. Equations should be centered, leaving a
6pt space above and below to separate it from the surrounding text (Equation style). Number the
equations, using Arabic numbers in parentheses.

Page numbers
Please number the pages as shown in this template. Page numbers are centered at the bottom,
in the footer section (Footer style).
4. RESULTS
The results should be presented in this section.
5. DISCUSSION
In this section, the obtained results are analyzed and compared with the observations made in
other investigations.
6. CONCLUSIONS
The most important conclusions should be summarized in this section.
7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Any scientific, technical or financial contribution may be acknowledged in this section. The
authors have the full responsibility for the originality of the paper. The authors must ensure prior
to paper submission the necessary permission to use any material that might be protected by
Copyright.
8. REFERENCES
References should be quoted in the text using consecutive numbers in square brackets, as
shown here [1], or [2, 4], or [1-3]. At the end of the manuscript, they should be cited as follows
(Reference style):

DEADLINES AND OTHER ISSUES
To have your paper included in the proceedings, you must upload your final manuscript in
MS Word file format (doc format) no later than 15 March 2016 to our homepage
www.iddrg2016.org.
Please name your manuscript file as follows: 000 Presenter.doc
where 000 is the abstract number that was assigned (e.g. 005, 084, 125, etc.) and Presenter is
the name of the person who will be presenting the paper at the conference.
We can receive up to 40 MB files through our upload site. If you have problems please
contact us via e-mail at iddrg2016@asmet.at as soon as possible.
The organizers do reject papers received later than 15 March 2016.
The Conference Proceedings will be distributed both in printed form (a conference book) and
electronically (USB Stick) to the participants at the venue. The conference book will be in black
and white. Please ensure that your use of colors, for instance in figures, are visible when your
manuscript is printed in black & white.
The paper will be included in the Conference Proceedings, only if the conference organizers
can confirm the registration of the presenter and receipt of the conference fee. The presenter
must register via on-line registration no later than 30 April 2016 to be included in the Final
Program of the Conference. For on-line registration please visit the Registration page of the
conference web site: www.iddrg2016.org
The Scientific Committee will review the full manuscripts and you may be contacted, in case
the Scientific Committee would like to suggest improvements. Please follow this paper template
carefully to ensure that your paper addresses all of the relevant issues and the required format.
