WSSCSW OUTSTANDING STUDENT PAPER AWARD This is a reminder to consider submitting a paper for the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work’s Outstanding Student Clinical Paper Award. The deadline is April 30th, 2011. The Society is your state organization dedicated to clinical social work practice. One of our missions is to support and promote high standards of social work clinical practice for those entering the profession. For many years now, the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work has offered the Outstanding Student Clinical Paper Award to MSW students in their graduating year from each of the MSW programs in our state. This year, we will be offering 1 Grand Prize Award to the chosen winner and 1 Honorable Mention to one UW graduating MSW student, 1 UW Tacoma graduating MSW student and 1 Walla Walla College graduating MSW student. If you submit a paper on a clinical topic and are selected for the top honor, you will receive a $500 AWARD, a certificate suitable for framing, and a year’s membership in the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work. Honorable Mention winners will earn a certificate suitable for framing, and a year’s membership in the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work. You will also be mentioned in our statewide newsletter and honored at your graduation ceremony. This is a wonderful way to put to use a paper you may have already written for a class. Please go to our website at www.wsscsw.org and you will find the “Student” navigation link. The Outstanding Student Paper Award page will give you all the information you need about paper criteria, submission and your faculty contact at your school. Winning papers chosen will have both a case study from your practicum/work and supporting theory as well as a cover page detailing “Why I want to be a Clinical Social Worker.” Feel free to contact me with questions you may have.
