Design Aspects/Statements
Web/WAP
Our system will allow the user to access information through a WAP phone, cell phone
simulator or web browser by inputting a URL address. The numbers for the IL Lottery
Little Lotto and Lotto will be stored in a database and retrieve through a web browser,
cell phone simulator or WAP phone.
User
The user will type in the URL address on the WAP phone, cell phone simulator or web
browser. The user will not be required to log in since this system will be accessible to
everyone who is interested in the winning numbers for the Little Lotto and Lotto games.
Number Entry System
Administrator logs on to the web site and enters the winning Lotto and Little Lotto
numbers which are stored in a database.
Number Retrieval System
The user logs in by typing the URL address on the WAP phone, the user will be asked to
enter a date in the WAP phone. The Lotto and Little Lotto winning numbers for the date
entered will be displayed. The system will reply with an invalid date response if an
incorrect date in entered on the WAP phone. The user can also access the web site and
can select the month from a drop down menu to retrieve the winning Lotto and Little
Lotto numbers for the month selected.
Database
Once the user types in a date on the WAP phone or cell phone simulator, the date will
create a query to the database and reply back with the winning numbers for that date.
From the web site it will return the winning numbers for the month requested.
Administrator
The administrator will have to provide a user login and password to access the database.
He/She will keep the database updated daily. The administrator will be the only person
with write access to the database. The administrator will have the ability to add, update
and delete the winning Lotto and Little Lotto numbers. Winning numbers will be kept for
365 days.
Network Protocal Used
TCP/IP will be used a network protocol to access the Internet.
Security
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) will be used for security measures to safe keep the daily
stored numbers, so they are accurate, and no one can make any changes, accept the
administrator.
Module Relationship
Insert Module - This module will insert the date and the Little Lotto and Lotto numbers.
The submit button will add the numbers to the database and will be seen on the
Administrator Page. This module must be completed first, so the cell phone can retrieve
the winning numbers from the website. This module will be on the Administrator page.
Update Module- This module will insert the date and there will be a select button. Little
Lotto and Lotto numbers will appear. The administrator will have the option to update,
which will change the numbers or select other, which will bring you back to the insert
date field. This module is the second to be completed. This module is dependent on the
first.
Delete Module- This module will allow you to select the date and delete both the date and
the number. This is the third module. This module is dependent on the update module.
The administrator must delete numbers that are 365 days old.
WAP Module- This module will access via cell phone to retrieve Little Lotto and Lotto
winning numbers. This is the last module. Once all the numbers are on the database, then
the cell phone can retrieve any of the numbers on the website. This module is dependent
on all three modules.
