Fields with “P” represent a positive diagnosis or test result. Fields with “N” represent a negative diagnosis or test result. Fields with “-“ indicate that a test was not conducted or was inconclusive. Values in the “Domoic Acid Toxicosis” column were obtained from independent veterinary diagnosis, not the computed ROC curve. “P” values in the MRI and Post-mortem Histopathology columns represent findings of hippocampal damage. “P” values in the EEG column represent brain recordings indicative of abnormal brain activity. “P” values in the Seizure column represent seizures observed by the naked eye. Three animals were excluded from the data set at final analysis: 7686, 7773, and 7917. 7686 and 7917 displayed neurological symptoms that did not appear to be related to domoic acid toxicosis. 7773 appeared to have a seizure during the initial presentation phase, so was unable to respond after the first two stimuli. Exclusion of these animals was a priori, and their inclusion would not have had a strong effect in either direction on the statistical results.
