2013 Right Bank Aroma: The aromatics on the 2013 Right Bank pop out of the glass with the perfume of blue violets & roses, bright red currants and fresh red raspberry compote, menthol, spices that include clove, anise, and allspice. Taste: A dark, intense wine. The 2013 Right Bank offers good energy, with plenty of richness throughout. Mocha, espresso, black cherry, and spice. Much more approachable than the 2012 upon release. The Vintage: 2013 was nearly an ideal season, with moderate temperatures and no rain or heat extremes. The growing season started early and remained about two weeks ahead of most previous years all summer. Water for irrigation was scarce after a dry spring, but that triggered few problems and two small rainstorms in September caused few headaches.
