SELECTION CRITERIA GUIDELINES
FOR THE
ABRAHAM CONSERVATION AWARD 2015
1. Who is eligible?
The Abraham Conservation Award is awarded to individuals or organizations working at
the grassroots level- in recognition of their significant contribution, activity or
accomplishment towards conservation with special focus on the following:
1. Conservation of Forests, Species and Freshwater
2. Combating Toxic/Pollutants and Climate Change
3. Sustainable Development
4. Education & Capacity Building
5. Communications & Marketing
6. Policy & Advocacy
2. How many nominations?
Upto 2 (two) nominees may be selected and submitted by each organization/entity to the
WWF Nepal office for this Award. Each nomination form must name two individuals as
references. These references must not be related to the nominees and must have known
the nominees in professional capacities for at least three years.
3. Selection Panel
Upon receipt of all nominations, the final recipients of the Abraham Conservation Award
will be selected by an impartial, independent Selection Panel.
4. Award
Each recipient of the Abraham Conservation Award will be provided with a citation and a
cash prize, NRs 25,000 for individuals and NRs 50,000 for organizations.
