This prescription meets the requirements of both O.C.G.A. 16-13-74 (Written prescriptions for dangerous drugs) and O.C.G.A. 26-4-116.2 (Authority of health practitioners to prescribe opioid antagonists). Therefore, please consider this standing order prescription to be valid and approved by this agency to be used by health practitioners to prescribe Naloxone for Intranasal use by a: Person at risk of experiencing an opioid related overdose, Pain management clinic, First responder (which includes law enforcement personnel) Harm reduction organization Family member, friend, or other person in a position to assist a person at risk This order can also be utilized to order Nasal Atomizers to distribute for use with the Naloxone, even though Nasal Atomizers do not require a prescription to be distributed.
