Getting Stuffed PG-13/R US (15+ AUS) thriller c. 99 minutes

Synopsis : Taxidermist Charlie and his wife, Miranda live in a large rambling house.

They do a brisk trade in creating life like images of the newly departed and bronzes.

A visitor to town, Anne Porter in her early thirties, is searching for somewhere to spend the night. She gets chatting to Miranda in a supermarket and is invited to stay.

Charlie is turned on by their visitor’s beauty over supper. Anne begins to slur her words. She is conscious of being lifted onto a trolley.

“Relax. You won’t feel a thing,” says Charlie.

Anne has a place in their spare bedroom in the attic.

Their desire for a complete human family leads to a young man, Ronnie joining

Anne after a steamy sex session with Miranda. He snatches the syringe and Miranda is frozen instead. Charlie has a challenge in subduing their guest on his own.

Charlie invites a police sergeant in for a beer. The sergeant falls for his story that the huge old kitchen is his workshop and so he looks no further.

The need for a boy and a girl leads to the disappearance of a pair of newspaper teenagers.

Other police search the house as Sammy lies ready for dissection, but her hiding place remains undiscovered. Casper frantically watches the officers’ arrival while locked away in the attic.

Charlie enjoys a macabre game of hide and seek while the petrified Casper and

Sammy cannot leave the battened down house. Sammy is caught and Casper forced to watch her preservation from his cage.

Casper manages to trap Charlie but after a nail biting scene, his brute strength lets him escape in a rage.

Casper is caught by Charlie but is a slippery customer as Charlie prepares him for a sculpture mould cast.

The “game” continues for some time as Charlie is physically slower but by degrees he closes down the potential hiding places.

Charlie falls to his doom over a trip wire at the top of the stairs.

As Casper sleeps, Miranda’s ghost draws him down the stairs and onto the operating table. He just resists her commands to dissect himself.

Casper sets fire to the top of the house and dashes into the kitchen. He fills the huge sink with water. Breathing through a hose from the washing machine to the air vent, he submerges under water.

When the firemen eventually break down the front door, they almost miss Casper. A waving arm catches a fireman`s attention and he is carried out of the house as it begins to crumble.

The final shot shows smoke arising from the roof very much like Miranda’s ghost.
