M. Cochise Anderson

Minneapolis, MN

M. Cochise Anderson will collaborate with Native Arts Circle in Minneapolis, MN to lead 4 weekly, 2.5 hour long workshops in performance/storytelling/creative writing/theater training to Native American performance artists and social service administrators who will then use this experience on the K-12 curriculum level.

Ed Edmo and the Indigenous Ways of Knowing Program at Lewis and Clark

College in Portland, OR, will collaborate to offer storytelling workshops to 10 students. The workshop series will culminate in a performance for public, family and friends where the students will demonstrate at least one traditional legend and explain how it relates to the work they do and how they will incorporate storytelling into their everyday work.

Clarissa Hudson will teach an intermediate Chilkat weaving class at the Silver

Cloud Art Center in Haines, Alaska, for 3-12 Tlingit, Haida or Tsimshian (maybe one Navajo) female weavers who have had any prior weaving experience in

Chilkat or Ravenstail. There is encouragement for weavers to begin weaving their first robe during this class.

Martha and Christopher Paul (Yakama) will teach ancient Native dogbane cordage making workshop with 3-4 Yakama families. The process will be recorded for future curriculum development and use by the Yakama Nation

Language Program.
