“How Courses Close” Online Report Instructions:

Enter NetID and password.

Click on “Student”.

Click on “Preregistration”.

There are two ways to access the online “How Courses Close” report. The
first is to click the “Search Historical Course Information” link from the main
Preregistration screen.

The online “How Courses Close” report is searchable by course root number (i.e. 361 for
Professional Responsibility), faculty last name, or course title. Note: You will need to
enter either LAWJ or LAWG to execute a search. Click the “View Report Online”
button.

How to Read The Report
Sections 01, 02, 03 and 04 - Full-time JD students have priority.
First priority is for rising L3 and L4 students; and second priority is for rising L2
students. Constitutional Law II with Edelman in Spring 2015 is a ‘01 course (full-time
JD student priority). Rising L3 students who ranked the course as their 6th priority were
enrolled, and rising L2 students who ranked the course as their 5th priority were enrolled.
Rising E2 and E4 students who ranked the course 1st were enrolled. The “X” indicates
no rising L4 or E3 students requested the course.
Note: '/' means only some students who selected the course in the priority listed in the category were
admitted, 'X' means no students in this category requested the course; '0' means that students in this
category requested the course, but were not enrolled for reasons such as time conflicts, credit limits
etc. 'PP' means professor permission was required.

Sections 07 and 97 - Part-time JD students have priority.
First priority is for rising E4 students; second is for rising E3 students; third is for rising
E2 students. Negotiations Seminar with Costantino in Fall 2014 is a ‘97 course (parttime JD student priority). Rising E4 and E3 students who ranked the course as their 2nd
priority were enrolled, and rising E2 students who ranked the course as their 3rd priority
were enrolled. Some rising L3 students who ranked the course 1st were enrolled. The
zero (0) indicates no rising L2 students who requested the course were enrolled for
reasons such as section closed-no seats available, time conflicts, credit limits, etc. No
rising L4 students requested the course.

The second way to access the online “How Courses Close” report is through a
course search. From the Pre-Registration screen (instructions 1-4), select “Pre-Register”
for the Fall 2015 semester.
