Condom and femidom check list CONDOM FEMIDOM 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Kite mark/CE mark. Watch out for novelty ones! Use by date. Damage to the packet/condom. Push condom to one side. Open carefully, tearing with fingers, not teeth. Squeeze condom out, don’t dig/pick out with fingernails. 7. Make sure that the condom is the correct way up so that it will roll down. 8. Pinch the teat or the end of the condom, to remove air. 9. If the condom has been put on the wrong way up, use a new one and start again! Pre-ejaculate fluid may be on the outside of the condom once it’s been put the right way round – defeating the object! 10. Place condom on the erect penis, keeping the teat/end pinched 11. Roll the condom all the way down. 12. Check the condom is still in place during sex 13. If something happens eg. If it comes off, then it’s important to put on a new one. 14. Penis + condom must be withdrawn soon after ejaculation. Before the penis becomes very flaccid. 15. Keep hold of condom as penis is with drawn. 16. Slide condom off the penis making sure that the semen remains inside the condom. 17. Dispose of in the bin. NOT IN THE TOILET Wrapping in tissue is optional! 1. Kite mark/CE mark. 2. Use by date. 3. Damage to the packet/femidom. 4. Open the packet and take out femidom 5. Squeeze the inner ring (smaller one) and insert into the vagina. 6. The other ring remains on the outside of the body. 7. The users must ensure that the penis goes inside the femidom. Sometimes if people are nervous or haven’t used them before the penis could be inserted between the femidom and the vaginal wall. 8. During sex, as with the condom, it’s important to check that the femidom is still in place. 9.After ejaculation the penis is withdrawn and the femidom can be removed. 10. It’s important that the semen remains inside the femidom. 11. One way to ensure this is to hold the outer ring, twist it round a couple of times and then remove it. 12. Dispose of femidom in the bin - NOT IN THE TOILET! REMEMBER Use water based lubricants – oil can damage the condom so don’t use things like vaseline, massage oil, baby oil, lipstick, marg/butter. Femidoms are made of polyurethane. REMEMBER Femidoms could be inserted 2/3 hours before sex. Don’t use condoms and femidoms together! Condoms are usually made of latex. Some condoms are made of polyurethane. Condoms are available in different shapes, sizes, colours and with different flavours. Play with them to find ones you like!
