1. Make Visible only the following layers: Colorado Outline, 1880 County
Boundaries, and Mining Camps. Make Active the 1880 County
Boundaries and Refresh Map.
a. Name of County assigned by your
teacher:______________________
Find your county on the map. Click the Find button. In the box at the
bottom type in (ALL CAPITAL LETTERS) the name of your county and click
the Find String. Your county should now turn “yellow”. Once you are sure
where your county is you can click the Clear Selection button.
Now Make Visible and Active the Mining Camps layer.
b. Use the Identity button and find 3 mining camps in your
assigned county (note that some counties may not have 3 or more.)

Make Active the 1880 County Boundaries and Refresh Map.
Then fill out the chart below for 1880. Turn off the 1880 County
Boundaries and Make Visible and Active the 1900 County Boundaries
layer and fill out the chart for 1900. Do the same for the 1930 County
Boundaries.
