FOR EXAMPLE, LABOR DAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2012 IS ON MONDAY. MONDAY’S
RUBBISH WILL BE COLLECTED ON TUESDAY, TUESDAY’S RUBBISH WLL BE
COLLECTED ON WEDNESDAY, ETC. FRIDAY’S RUBBISH FOR THAT WEEK
WILL BE COLLECTED ON SATURDAY.

RUBBISH BARRELS MUST HAVE COVERS ON THEM TO PREVENT RAIN/SNOW/
WATER BUILD UP INSIDE.

glass, no other color but brown and green. No broken glass.

BROOK STREET LANDFILL
PERMIT – FEES AND RULES
The Middleborough Board of Selectmen voted on May 22, 2012, to adopt and amend the Town of
Middleborough Landfill Regulations as follows, effective May 22, 2012:
Landfill Location and Hours:
The Brook Street Landfill is located at 207 Plympton Street, just before the Plympton Town line. Hours of
operation are Monday through Saturday, 7:30 A. M. to 3:30 P. M., except Holidays.

Any questions, please call the Middleboro Highway Department, 508-946-2481, Monday through Friday,
7:00 A. M. to 3:30 P. M.
Landfill Permits:
Landfill Permits are available at the D. P. W. office located at 48 Wareham Street, Middleboro, MA, Monday
through Friday, 7:00 A. M. to 3:30 P. M. Residential landfill permits are required to enter the landfill
and must be presented to the Gate Attendant.
Residential Permits are $25.00 per fiscal year, (JULY 1 TO JUNE 30), which covers 12 visits to the landfill
for that fiscal year. A vehicle registration showing a vehicle registered to your home address will be required to
purchase a landfill permit. NO DUPLICATES WILL BE ISSUED. Residents that exceed their twelve visits
per year will be required to use the scale. Fees are below.
SCALE FEES
Scale fee is three cents ($0.04) a pound with a minimum fee of five dollars ($5.00).
IF UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES OCCUR AND THE SCALE IS NOT FUNCTIONING,
THE FOLLOWING CHARGES WILL BE ASSESSED TO RESIDENTS:
Automobiles
Pick up trucks, cargo vans or trailers of equal size up to 1.0 ton
One ton dump trucks or equivalent size trailers up to 1.5 tons
Six wheel dump trucks or equivalent size trailers up to 2.5 tons
Ten wheel dump trucks or equivalent size trailers up to 5 tons

BULKY ITEMS:
Fees are charged for bulky items (i.e. T. V.’s, computers, furniture, appliances, tires, car batteries, propane
tanks, etc.) taken to the Landfill. A fee schedule is attached. (See Page 8.) These fees are paid at the landfill
and may be paid by cash or check. A landfill permit is not required
Residents may bring the following items to the Landfill. A landfill permit is required but will not be punched
for these items:
Concrete/Cement Pieces-No metal posts mixed in.
Blacktop.
Oil-No Limit.
Anti-freeze-No Limit.
Brush–Maximum size 3” (three inches) diameter.
Cat Litter.
Leaves, grass clippings, hay, manure.
