GARBAGE
 Must be bagged before placing in City cart

cart
YARD WASTE
 Yard waste (only, grass, leaves, limbs and branches, landscaping timbers, and
crossties) picked up day following garbage collection
 Crossties and landscaping timbers must be from yard (6’ or less)
 Dimension (limbs not to exceed 6’ in length or 6” in diameter – Ordinance 17,262
Chapter 28, Section 19c)
 Leaves, grass, and twigs contained in personal containers or bagged (not to
exceed 60 lbs in weight)
 Personal container (32 gal. or less, not accepted in City cart)
 Large piles will not be picked up on regular yard waste day (please call in)
 Large piles will be picked up by mechanical truck
 Large piles must have clearance from overhead power lines and tree branches
PAINT
 Must be dry (can dry out by placing cat litter or sand in containers)
 Must schedule pickup (lids must be removed)
 Will not be accepted at Household Hazardous Waste Center
BUILDING MATERIAL
 City will not accept building material as curbside pickup
 Should not be placed in City cart
 Must be hauled to a landfill by the resident (City Landfill 888-5806)
AUTOMOTIVE PARTS & TIRES
 City will not accept auto parts or tires as curbside pickup
 Should not be placed in City cart
 City Landfill will accept off-rim tires for disposal free of charge. Limit 4
tires/person/day.

MOSQUITO SPRAYING
 Must be requested
 Is not harmful to humans, animals, or pets
 Will spray from street only (will not go on personal property)

 Will not spray when raining or when winds exceed 10 mph

BILLING
Q: How much is the residential fee?
A: $20.99 per unit of residence per month, plus applicable taxes
Q: How much is the commercial fee?
A: A minimum of $28.80 for one container; extra charge for each additional container.
Q: Can the fee be removed?
A: Only for commercial accounts, residential fees remain unless water service is
discontinued.
Q: Is there any kind of adjustments for unoccupied residential units?
A: Yes, a partial credit of $6.83 per month for accounts that are both unoccupied and are
not using any solid waste services.

Q: Is there a discount of any kind for seniors?
A: Currently the only discount is based on income, not age. Contact one of the
Neighborhood Alert Centers for more information.
Q: Is residential garbage service required?
A: Yes, City ordinance #19,087 requires City to provide these services for houses, single
family homes, and apartments.
Q: Am I allowed to have more than one cart?
A: Yes, each additional cart will be another $7 per month.
Q: What do I do if I live in the City but don’t have water service?
A: Non-metered accounts are billed directly from the Solid Waste Office on a quarterly
basis. The fees are identical.
