Welcome, introductions and opening remarks
 Introductions took place for the benefit of new environmental champions attending for the first
time.
 Environmental Champions group now grown to 39 members
 Keith thanked everyone for their involvement in the various campaigns and activities during
2007.
2. Actions arising
Action
 Shower facilities for cyclists (raised by Louisa
Stebbings). Discussion to take place between
Simon Corden and ICT re moving ICT paper store
room.
 LS’s budget allocation for this must to be spent by
end-March 2008.
 45-minute energy awareness training/presentation
for environmental champions. Carol to check
dates with Briar Associates for January.
 Involve school caretakers as champions in
schools
 Circulate climate change strategy and action plan
to the group in advance of next meeting as this will
form the mainstay of the agenda. (Done)
 Environmental Champions representative(s) to
attend one of the Efficiency Transmission Board
meetings chaired by David Brown, executive
director for children’s services
 For 2008 look at mainstreaming the environmental
champions group taking on a more strategic role
 This group to work more closely with New Deal
(through Andy Bradley)
 Dates of future meetings for 2008
