History of scene design and application of contemporary styles to various types of dramatic productions. Course Objectives: To introduce the advanced scene design student to scripts requiring a variety of stylistic approaches to design problems To develop an approach to set design through the process of model making To broaden the student’s knowledge of dramatic literature and to strengthen analytical skills To increase the students design/artistic vocabulary To develop greater presentation/communication skills Objectives Will Be Met Through: Class projects on a variety of design assignments Class presentations of Design Class discussions of assigned scripts Class discussions of 20th Century Designers Class work on sketching, model-making, and drafting Students with Disabilities If you are a student with a disability and believe you will need accommodations for this class, it is your responsibility to contact Student Disability Services at (619) 594-6473.
