APPROACH TO GOD AND THE CHURCH’S PRAISE
INTROIT
Great is the Lord, He is holy and just, by his power we trust in his love
Great is the Lord, he is faithful and true, by his mercy he proves he is love
Great are you Lord, and worthy of glory; great are you Lord
and worthy of praise
Great are you Lord, I lift up my voice, I lift up my voice;
Great are you Lord, great are you Lord, Great are you Lord!

CALL TO WORSHIP
HYMN OF PRAISE – No. 1 –
#143 – Hark the glad sound!
PRAYER OF ADORATION & THANKSGIVING
RESPONSIVE READING – NO. 672
Leader: As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God
People: My soul thirsts for God, for the living God,
When can I go and meet with God?
Leader: My tears have been my food day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
‘where is your God?’
People: These things I remember as I pour out my soul;
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.
Leader: Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
All:
Put your hope in God for I will yet praise Him,
my Saviour and my God.
Great is the Lord, He is holy and just by his power we trust in his love
Great is the Lord, He is faithfully and true; by his mercy he proves he is love.
Great is the Lord and worthy of glory; great is the Lord and worthy of praise.
Great is the Lord; now lift up your voice, now lift up your voice
Great is the Lord, great is the Lord!
3.
Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things.
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man.
You were here before the world began.
Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all the wonders the world has ever known.
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth.
There’s no way to measure what you’re worth.
REF: Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone.
Like a rose trampled on the ground.
You took the fall and thought of me, above all
4. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name
He has done great things, he has done great things,
He has done great things, bless his holy name.

HYMN OF RESPONSE – NO. 3 –
[SILENCE]
[Sung prayerfully] You are my hiding place, you always fill my heart
with songs of deliverance.
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you.
I will trust in you;
Let the weak say:
‘I am strong in the strength of the Lord’.

The Choir
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
REF: On Christ the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand
2.
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
3.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
4.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne
