USA BADMINTON COACH AGREEMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL EVENTS I pledge to uphold the spirit of the USA Badminton Coach Agreement which offers a guide to my conduct as a member of USA Badminton. I have familiarized myself with the agreement and understand the acceptance of its provisions. As a coach at this event, I promise and agree that I: Will coach and work with other volunteers, managers, parents, coaches, athletes and tournament officials during this event; Verify that I have current USAB Membership and I am a member of good standing I have participated in a Competition Coaching Module run in my region/club and I understand its contents. I understand that this is mandatory for me to take this module in order to be able to coach my players at all USAB sanctioned junior events. Have read the USAB Coaches Code of Ethics & Conduct (click http://usabadminton.org/resources/coaching/usab-coaches-code-of-ethics-and-conduct).I agree to attend a one hour face-face interactive USAB Coaches Code of Ethics & Conduct Module in future. Have completed the USOC – USAB Safe Sports online training: Clink This Link To Access the USOC Online Safe Sport Training: http://training.teamusa.org I understand and: Will abide the rules of the Badminton World Federation; Will abide by the BWF Code of Conduct for Coaches and Officials http://bwfbadminton.org/file_download.aspx?id=28231 Am aware of the BWF Offences and Penalties http://bwfbadminton.org/file_download.aspx?id=28233 Shall uphold the good name of the USOC, USAB, my club, fellow coaches, parents, players, organizers and court officials; Have acted and will act in a sportsmanlike manner consistent with the spirit of fair play and responsible conduct; Will respect the property of others whether personal or public; Will respect other players, other teams, spectators and officials, and will engage in no form of discriminatory behavior or verbal, physical or sexual harassment or abuse; Will not use or authorize the use of photographs, films or videos of myself with the USA Badminton logo for the purpose of trade, without the prior written consent of USA Badminton (which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld); USAB Coach Agreement – For International Events 1 Will act in a way that will bring respect and honor to myself, USA Badminton and the United States; Will remember that at all times I am an ambassador for my sport, my country and the Olympic Movement; Support and abide by anti-doping initiatives by USAB, BWF, USADA and WADA; Practice respect and fair play with regards to officials, fellow coaches, and athletes irrespective of gender and ethnic background; Avoid misconduct that will offend the ethics or traditions of USAB or bring discredit or harm to the reputation of USAB and fellow coaches; Be honest in the performance of duties, including avoiding falsification of reports pertaining to athletes and fellow coaches or permitting or condoning such by an assistant coach and/or intern coach or athlete under my supervision; Respond fully and accurately or appear upon request during investigations of rules violations by tournament organizers or the governing association; Avoid wagering on any athletes’ matches or associating with known gamblers or bookmakers; Avoid motivating parents, supporters, fellow coaches and athletes under my supervision in wagering on match outcomes; Avoid consuming alcohol with fellow coaches and/or parents in the presence of junior athletes. Avoid promoting the consumption of alcohol to fellow coaches, parents and athletes ( both juniors and adults) during an event; Avoid accepting payment from other parties such as any individuals including parents, guardians, officials, club owners, athlete personal coach, etc with the intention of a USAB coach providing personal attention to selected athletes on the USA Team and not to others; (This applies to USA Team Events* only, not to coaching athletes at individual events within the individual events) USA Team Events* Olympic Games, Pan Am Games, Youth Olympic Games, Sudirman Cup, Thomas Cup, Uber Cup, Pan Am Team Event, Pan Am Individual Event, World Junior Championships, Pan Junior Championships, Cooperate and enforce policies and procedures related to drug-testing programs; Avoid acts of violence or hostile personal conduct, or condoning the same or encouraging fellow coaches, athletes and officials in such conduct which may not warrant criminal prosecution but results in public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule that reflects unfavourably the reputation USOC, USAB, BWF, BPAC and the organizers; Treat and communicate with all athletes in championships in a fair and respectful manner irrespective of association with athlete, athlete’s club, region, gender or ethnicity; USAB Coach Agreement – For International Events 2 Endorse USAB and its sponsors for the event, and give the right to publicize or use my name, and image to promote badminton; While officially on duty at an event as coach at this event, I shall avoid making speeches, press statements, publish articles or images/videos on the electronic media such blogs, as well as social emedia such as My Space, Twitter and Facebook, which will negatively affect the BWF, BPAC, USAB, USOC, USAB badminton clubs and its management, the tournament host, tournament organizers, tournament officials, coaches, athletes and parents.
