Person Specification – Lead Animal Care Technician The College is seeking to appoint a Lead Animal Care Technician. The role will involve the day to day husbandry for the large & varied collection of animals kept in the animal care department and the provision of a high quality service to the staff & students in the animal care department and across college. You will also deputise for the unit manager in their absence. CRITERIA ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE METHOD OF ASSESSMENT Qualifications: Have at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), including Science, Maths and English Application Form Have an animal related qualification at L3 Application Form Have an animal related qualification at L4 or above Application Form Experience and Knowledge: At least 3 years experience of working with animals in a captive environment Good working knowledge of the captive husbandry of at least 4 of the following 6 taxa; reptiles, birds, mammals, amphibians, invertebrates, fish.
