Person Specification – Lead Animal Care Technician
The College is seeking to appoint a Lead Animal Care Technician. The role will involve the
day to day husbandry for the large & varied collection of animals kept in the animal care
department and the provision of a high quality service to the staff & students in the animal
care department and across college. You will also deputise for the unit manager in their
absence.

Qualifications:
Have at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent),
including Science, Maths and English




Experience and Knowledge:
At least 3 years experience of working with animals in a
captive environment

Good working knowledge of the captive husbandry of at
least 4 of the following 6 taxa; reptiles, birds, mammals,
amphibians, invertebrates, fish.

