Notes: Elective (4-6 s.h) chosen after first semester according to interest, thesis topic and
methodology (eg. Advanced Stats or Qualitative, or content related) or interest in doctoral
study at SC (eg. Psychopathology, Stress Management, Intro. to Counseling).
If interested in applying for AASP consulting certification, Psychopathology
and Intro. to Counseling are strongly encouraged as electives.
** If all prerequisites are need as in option #2, and elective(s) may be taken during the
summer
* A&P may be taken at HCC or STCC during the summer or during the academic year
(this would leave room for electives during the academic year and AEXS 313 & 319
moved so final semester is more reasonable, giving time for thesis completion)
Because most courses carry 3 s.h., students will likely total 38 s.h. rather than the
minimum 36.

Elective (or MOST 629 with elective in Spring, third semester)
Full time 9 s.h.. If below 9, be sure this does not impact health insurance and financial
aid (need to be at least 4.5). Health insurance is covered for a year so, if you are a parttime student in the spring, no problem. Always have student check with financial aid if
fall below full-time course load. If student drops a course/program during a semester, be
sure they see financial aid. If complete withdrawal from Springfield College, see Grad
Office.
