Dear Dr. Hilton:
As the current President of Town and Gown Player’s, I wish to thank you and the University of
Georgia English Department for the many years of generosity you have shown our theatre company.
In the ten years since our debut of our Second Stage season, you and your Department have
graciously allowed us to rehearse in Park Hall. As you are surely aware, many of the English
Departments Faculty have, and many still do, perform on our stage. Our members and your Faculty
like John Vance, Fran Teague, Bill Provost, Kathleen Anderson and countless students have all
benefited from our association.
Mike Hendrick has always been great about making arrangements, and the night cleaning crew
(especially Homer) have been very helpful and friendly. Even if you have received a similar letter in
the past, I wanted to personally thank you for your gift to the Art of Acting. Less we forget, “All the
world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players”, (William Shakespeare, “As You Like It”
Act II, Scene VII). We all play a part in this play called life. Our journey is made sweet through
friendships such as yours.
The Town and Gown Player’s Board of Director’s would like to publicly take note… that you and your
entire Department have been instrumental in the success of our productions. We most humbly
applaud your kindness and look forward to many more years of fruitful association.
With Warm Regards,
A.A. “Andy” Garrison, Jr.
