Meeting Dates
The 43rd ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC29/WG 1 (JPEG/JBIG) meeting will be held from Monday 12 to Friday 16 November,
2007. Meeting will start at 9:30 am Monday with the WG1 Opening Plenary and the meeting will conclude early Friday
afternoon.

Registration & Facilities Fee
Delegates are requested to fax the attached Registration Form to both the meeting host and the WG 1 Convener.
Facilities fee if registered by 2007-09-30 is JPY 20,000. Attendees who register after this date will be charged JPY
25,000.
In accordance with Resolution 46 approved at the 41st SC 29/WG 1 meeting, 2007-04-23/27, San Jose, USA, the
meeting host is also requesting an additional fee of JPY 5,000 for the maintenance of WG 1 web site.
Cancellations made on or before 2007-10-12 will be refunded, note that a handling charge of JPY 5,000 will be
deducted prior to issuing the refund. All cancellations must be made via e-mail. Please send the cancellation notice to
wg1kobe@itscj.ipsj.or.jp. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your cancellation. Cancellations made after 200710-12 as well as no-shows, are liable for the full Facilities fee.
Passport and VISA
Participants are advised to check regulations regarding passport, visa and particularly the time required to obtain a visa.
If you need any documents for the acquisition of a visa, please contact Ms. Yukiko Ogura (ogura @ itscj.ipsj.or.jp),

Currency, Credit Cards and Banks

Local currency is the Yen (JPY). Coins are available in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 yen and bank notes
in denominations of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 yen. You can buy yen at foreign exchange banks and other
authorized money exchangers. At the international airports, currency exchange counters are usually open during normal

100v (2-flat-pin type-A plug) is the standard power supply throughout Japan. Convertible types of electrical appliances
will be most convenient; otherwise a step-down transformer is required to convert the voltage.
