ENTRY FEES
MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS:
All exhibitors must be members of the Society except exhibitors entering solely in
the Unaffiliated Horse & Pony Section, where no membership is required.
Membership for the year 2015 will cost £6.00
Membership should be paid along with the entry fees.
ENTRY FEES:
The entry fee per animal in a Cattle & Horse class will be £4.00.
The entry fee per animal in a Sheep class will be £3.00.
The entry fee per class in Unaffiliated Horse & Pony classes will be £6.00 + £2 medical
cover – note: no membership subscription is required for this section only.
PRIZE MONEY:
Prize cards will be given out by the steward after each class is judged.
Prize money will not be given where special rosettes and trophies are given unless stated
in the catalogue. PLEASE NOTE PRIZE MONEY WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT
UNTIL AFTER THE PARADE

SHOWING REGULATIONS
1.
All stock must be the property and in possession of the Exhibitor until the award of the judges. The age
of the animal will be calculated from the 1st January of the year in which they were produced, except
where otherwise mentioned.
2. Pouring fluids into animals previous to or while in the show yard and also what is generally known as
doctoring livestock is strictly prohibited. Any member wilfully violating this or any other rules of the
competition shall forfeit all prizes and be disqualified from competing at Stirling Show for three years.
3. No animal will be allowed to be exhibited if diseased or has come from disease affected stock. The vet
in attendance will make the final decision.
4. The Directors reserve the right to reject the entries of any person if they deem fit to do so. All exhibitors
by entering bind themselves to accept the decision of the Directors in all matters related to the Show.
5. The silver trophies will be offered for competition yearly at successive shows of stock held by the
association until they are won outright if the case may be. The successful Exhibitors will be entitled to
the custody of the Trophies gained by them until the succeeding year, upon signing that the Trophies
will be returned undamaged to the Secretary on the day of the Show the following year. Exhibitors are
responsible for insuring the trophies against theft and/or damage whilst in their possession.
6. All bulls to be secured by ring in nose with chain or rope attached. Servants should remain in constant
charge of bulls during the Show. They must be ready to parade when required. Failure to comply will
lead to forfeiture of prize money won in the Section by Exhibitor.
7. Horses are to be exercised within their exercising area. Any infringement may be removed from the
ground by the Directors and prizes will be forfeited.
8. All animals are to be shown according to the Department of Agriculture regulations.
CATTLE – Responsibility of Recording Cattle Movements on Records and Passports to and from Stirling
Showfield will remain with the Exhibitor. Holding Labels will be supplied by the Show Secretary on the
day of the show.
SHEEP – Scrapie Approved – all females of all breeds except Dorset Horn, Polled Dorset and Finnish
Landrace to be entered are: a) Non pregnant b) Have not lambed within 30 days prior to entry to Show
c) Not subject to procedures which change the seasonal breeding pattern.
SHEEP – Maedi-Visna – A copy of Certificate of Status (Green SAC) to be attached to Entry Form and
original to be presented on the day of the show.
GOATS – Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis –A copy of Certificate of Status (Green SAC) be attached to
Entry Form and original to be presented on the day of the show.
9. The Showground gates will be open at 8.00 am. All stock must be placed by 9.00 am, with the
exception of unaffiliated horses, which should be in place one hour before the commencement of their
first class. All stock must remain until 3.00 pm.
10. The judges, unless otherwise stated, will commence their duties at 9.30 am, unaffiliated 9.00 prompt.
11. Prize cards will be handed out by the steward and, in return, prize money may be collected from the
Secretary’s Tent, which will be closed between 2.00 and 3.00 pm for the parade.
12. The Exhibitor of any animal, which shall, during the time it is in the Showground of the Association,
cause or occasion any damage or injury whatsoever to any person in the Showground, shall indemnify
and hold harmless the Association from all actions, suits, expenses and claims on account or in respect
of any such damage or injury which may be caused or occasioned.

Each Exhibitor shall exhibit his livestock or goods at his own risk. The Association shall not be
responsible for the safety of any livestock or any article belonging to exhibitors or servants of exhibitors
during the time it is in the Showground.
14. Exhibitors or their servants must be at their
animals’ heads at 9.00 am and 2.00 pm unless absent under special permission of the Show
Chairman. Livestock without an attendant at these times, or where otherwise stated, will be passed
over by the judges. Attendants should remain with their livestock throughout the day until the close of
the Show.
15. Objections or protests shall be made in writing with the name, address, complaint and signature of the
objector, within 30 minutes of the event concerned and lodged at the Secretary’s Office with the sum of
£10 (£15 in the case of unaffiliated horse classes) This sum will be returned if the objection is sustained
or forfeited if the objection is found to be incorrect in any detail.
16. The entry money shall be payable as specified in the catalogue. Each Exhibitor must be a Member of
the Association, unless otherwise stated in the Catalogue. There will be no entry for Challenge Cup
Classes or classes where special awards are made.
17. The decision of the Directors will be final in all matters relating to the Showing Rules stated herewith. A
judge’s decision will be upheld at all times.
18. The Association and its office-bearers will not be responsible to any person whatsoever while upon the
Showground, or while entering or leaving the same, for any damage or loss however caused to the
property of any such person or for any injury fatal or otherwise to any such person.
