D. L. Engle Biography:
D. L. Engle has been a full time working sculptor for over 35 years in Southern
California, with a special interest in animals in art.
From two-inch miniatures to six-foot monuments, her fine art bronzes are noted
for their exquisite design and insightful modeling in which the expression and
character of the subject is highlighted. There is often a particular emphasis found
of a sense of movement as well.
Her knowledge of animal anatomy and expression has grown from a lifetime of
ongoing education and study. She is a frequent attendee at shows, trials,
sporting events or any place where animals can be found. There she will observe
and work from live models.
The sculptures are cast in bronze by the ancient method of lost wax and finished
with a rich traditional patina by the artist. The result has been some of the most
desirous and coveted animal art in the world.
