history of his 3o years in education and his duties in PVSD.

- Still have some SHSAA AGM bills to pay, one very large one for SHSAA AGM hotel costs.

8. Officials Commissioner’s Report – Randy Clark

Had a shortage of referees last year had to access them outside our division for V-Ball and
especially critical is the B-Ball
Please encourage people to go to clinic
If B-Ball referee shortages continue we may not be able to hos B-Ball playoffs
Coaches need to make sure players/fans/coaches need to be more welcoming to B-Bal officials
and less critical

9. New Business
a) SHSAA – Kevin Vollet Executive Director SHSAA
- Welcomed and thanked everyone involved in sport and the jobs they do
- Need officials across the province – please hang the posers supplied by SHSAA in your school
- School packages were handed out to all schools, check out the yearbook from last year
- Made mention of the sportsmanship award winners for QVDA
- Section 2 rep – Kevin Kitchen is the same
- Section 1 rep – Jeff Kitz – New
- Section 3 rep – Barry Kroshaw – New
- Officials Rep – Scott Cory – New
- Regina Rep – Lance Ford – New
- Check website and print off for your school – last year’s winners and the new policies past at
SHSAA AGM in June
- Also made us aware of the new resolutions that were past at the AGM
- Classified activities for fall – based on last year’s Sept 30 enrollment
- Classified activities for winter – based on this year’s Sept 30 enrollment
- Tournament fees - $250 for B-Ball all other teams $150
- E5 forms for fall must be in by Sept 17
- Team fees $35 to $40 this year
- Sport specific new resolutions see SHSAA handbook for details
- Non faculty coach – must be approved and have taken fundamentals of coaching coarse if no
faculty staff is with them

Respect in sport – every coach/assistant coach must take the course before coaching. It is still
free for the next 2 years
SIAAA course being offered to Athletic Commissioners to help them with their jobs. Conference
in April in Saskatoon
Deadline dates – see SHSAA handbook/calendar for all activities
Enrollment form Sept 30-Oct 6 will be open to enter your numbers
Sport specific advisory groups – applications will be sent out to all schools asking them to join
these groups they are interested in
He is retiring June 2015
b) PVSD Athletic Commissioner’s Report – Ron Reinhart

 Volleyball officials, basketball officials, coaching and Hytek
 If there is a need for clinics for officials please let us know
d) QVDA Website
 The QVDA website is up and running. Go to SHSAA and go under Districts to QVDA
 Information needs to be forwarded to the QVDA President after events including pictures of the
champions
e) QVOA
 Peggy Appleton is going to stay on for QVOA for another year
 This past year was the fastest that officials have ever been paid through QVOA
 Schools and coaches must remember to but a PO# on their QVOA form. The only ones that don’t
require a number are QVDA District Championships because the officials are paid by QVDA.
 Officials need to contact the school first instead of Peggy or myself if they are wondering why
they haven’t been paid
f) QVDA Play-off Structure
 Jr Golf – East and West – equal split. Sr. Golf (grass/sand)
 Cross-Country (Bantam/Midget/Junior/Senior)
 Soccer – Conferences attached
 Football – Conferences attached
 Volleyball – grade 7-9. Sr. conferences attached
 Curling – All three events on same day.
o One rink could host all three.
 Basketball - grade 7-9. Sr. conferences attached.
o New playoff format this year
 Badminton – pre-zones, zone and districts
 Track & Field
o Three zone concept
o Douglas Park is already booked for next year
o A block of rooms is booked for Provincials in Yorkton
e) Sports Activities – Hosts
 See Activity Grid – open voting, everyone can vote for hosting

Medals will be sent out through inter-office mail, unfortunately the order from Barkers has yet
to arrive
