Board of Disciplines
of the doctoral study programme Landscape Architecture
The study in doctoral study programmes is monitored and evaluated by the members
of the Board of Disciplines. The Board of Disciplines is appointed for each doctoral
study programme. The members of the Board can be professors, associate
professors, and renowned experts approved by the Scientific Board of the faculty.
The Board of Disciplines has nine members, of which at least one is not the member
of the Academic Community of the university. The members of the Board of
Disciplines are appointed and dismissed by the Dean. The chairman of the Board is
voted by its members from among themselves.
The Board of Disciplines especially:
a) guarantees the content specialisation and scientific profile of the respective
discipline, discusses changes in the structure of subjects, and designates the
subjects for a state doctoral exam,
b) suggests members of committees for entrance exams and tutors,
c) expresses its collective opinion on the individual study plan of a student and its
changes,
d) checks and assesses the study going on in the respective doctoral study
programme and presents the result of this assessment to the dean at least
once in a year,
e) suggests opponents and terms for dissertation orals,
f) suggests members of examination boards for state doctoral exams and
dissertation orals to the dean.
The Board of Disciplines is sufficient in numbers if at least two thirds of its members
are present. To approve a decree, the absolute majority of positive votes of the
present members of the Board are required.
