The Guide of Observation Box for Brownian motion of smoke particles. Features: This apparatus is used to observe ‘Brownian motion’ of smoke particles. The apparatus use laser light source instead of a low voltage festoon bulb . This innovation leads to more sharp focusing of image is obtained and no external power source is needed. Only two AA batteries are fixed in a small plastic box that permits easy attachments of standard microscopes. The apparatus consists of a glass smoke cell , a cylindrical Whitley Bay pattern condensing lens and a laser source. The specially designed groove on the tope of smoke cell seals smoke cell to prevent the escape of smoke from the cell. The components are pre-adjusted so as to focus the light at the correct height in relation to the smoke cell, ensuring that observation is enhanced. Students can directly observe Brownian motion of smoke particles in this small box on the platform of microscope. By using a special DV camera fixed on the eye lens of microscope teacher can demonstrate Brownian motion on the screen of computer or big screen of project. Dimensions: ( diagram & photos) Guide of Operation 1. Microscope ×10 objective lens and ×10 eye lens or ×10 objective lens and ×16 eye lens 2. Remove the glass lid of smoke cell and fill several drops of glycerin or clean water in the seal groove. Squeeze some smock with a straw into the smoke cell. Cover the glass lid on the smoke cell immediately and press it. 3. Switch on the power to light the smoke cell with red light of laser 4. Put the box on the platform of microscope and let the smoke cell directly under the objective lens. Slightly move the box for viewing access. 5. Slow raise the tube of microscope using it’s knob and view from the eye lens until some bright tiny particles of smoke appear in your view. Adjust the microscope slightly to focus smoke particles clearly. You can view the random motion of smoke particles in the air of smoke cell. Maintain 1. Clean the smoke cell after each observation 2. Keep the glass lid of smoke cell clean and smooth. 3. Keep the seal groove on the tope of smoke cell clean. 4. Remove the battery after observation
