UNITED WAY AMERICORPS POSITION DESCRIPTION – 2010-2011 Name of Host Site Agency: NORTHWEST COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS CENTER Agency Address/Location: 1740 East Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402 Position Title: RESIDENT LIAISON Type of Position: Part-Time Number of Positions Available for This Site: One (1) Position Reports to: Charlie Hughes, Quality Assurance Coordinator Anticipated Regular Service Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-3pm. May be asked to work some weekends for special events Position Summary: Resident Liaison will be responsible for assisting with Resident Commissary, Education assessments, and Orientation lessons. This position will serve as the primary contact for “Sober Living Events” (events in which the residents participate in pro-social activities within the community). This position will work with the Quality Assurance Coordinator on data collection and entry for the purposes of program evaluation. In addition, the Resident Liaison will assist with clinical interventions and other areas of programming related to the treatment of adult males for chemical dependency and other issues related to rehabilitation. Position Responsibilities: 1. Assist the Quality Assurance Coordinator with the evaluation of treatment services, to include data collection, entry, and analysis. 2. Provide support to various clinical services, including group facilitation and community outreach. 3. Participate in the day-to-day functions of the Therapeutic Community, providing supervision and support to resident led activities. 4. Conduct focus groups related to quality assurance initiatives and program assessment. 5. Assist with Orientation lessons, commissary needs, and various treatment assessments for residents. 6. Serve as contact/coordinator for Sober Living events. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma/G.E.D. and some college experience in a related field (i.e. criminal justice, social work, counseling, etc.). Computer skills including word processing, data entry, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working in a treatment or human services setting, preferred. Training or experience in chemical dependency, counseling, or other clinical training/experience, preferred. Ability to obtain a Chemical Dependency Counselor Certificate (CDCA) through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, preferred.
