April Newsletter 2013 Hello all and welcome to my first newsletter as secretary of the Association (Glasgow Branch) !! For those who don’t know me, my name is Pauline Duncan and I am mum to Craig, 7, and David, 4. My eldest son Craig was born with serious Cardiac problems and this is how I found the association. March and April have been very busy months indeed. We all had a wonderful day at the Easter craft day. It was lovely to see so many of you there, and as usual the kids had a ball ! Glasgow AGM We also had our AGM (Glasgow Branch) and Susan Maxwell, head of the cardiac liaison team, was there to answer parent’s queries about the role of the cardiac liaison nurses, as was Eileen Fern (CLN). Thanks to all who attended and of course to Susan and Eileen for giving their time to come and speak to us. Meeting Members Meeting Thursday 9th May,7.30pm:- Come and meet other parents and have a chat, over a cup of tea/coffee and perhaps a bit of home baking. The meetings are very informal and are held in the tutorial room outside ward 5a it would be great to see you. Family Weekend Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May:There are still rooms available for our annual trip to Pitlochry. At time of print we have 2 Rooms available, one family room and one double. As in previous years, the weekend is subsidised by SACHD, and the price to families is a proposed donational amount that we ask you to make towards the overall costs. We appreciate times are difficult, so if anyone is finding hard to pay full amount please contact me, or any management committee member (in strictest confidence) to discuss the matter. We would not want anyone not to come!! If however, families can pay the amount requested then it enables us to use our funds on other worthy causes, like this weekend Contact Vikki for a booking form and confirmation of costs at aberdeen@youngheart.info or if you have any queries...
