Slide 6 - Cheque Advice
Slide notes
The Cheque Advice feature generates both an advice and an actual cheque. The advice contains employee, employer and payroll details, as well as
earnings and deductions information.
The Generate Cheque Payments process is run after the Calculate Payroll, Calculate Prepayments and Archive Periodic Payroll Results processes. The
cheque advice is generated based on balances, personal and other information contained in the archive. The Generate Cheque Payments process selects
all the employees that are processed in the archive for a given payroll period, for a payment method of cheque. The cheque advice contains the following
sections, with the actual cheque located at the bottom:
Employee and employer information
Summary
Earnings
Taxable benefits
Nonpayroll payments
Tax deductions
Other deductions
The hours, rate, and multiple associated with the earnings is displayed for all earnings for both hourly and salaried employees. The cheque advice does not
extend past one page. In order to accomplish this requirement, some details might be summarized if the output extends past one page.

The actual cheque of the cheque advice is located at the bottom. The cheque number is generated from the parameter entered in the Generate Cheque
Payments process. The employer name and address is retrieved from the associated Tax Reporting Unit’s information. The MICR encoding information at
the bottom of the cheque is the responsibility of the customer as it is not provided by Oracle.

Slide 7 - Cheque Advice
Slide notes
The cheque advice generates both the advice and a cheque for employees that provides a lot of information to the employee about the payment. This
information helps the customer be proactive by providing payment details to the employee. This feature supports country-specific features and functions for
Canada. It also enables users to follow Canada’s business practices and comply with its statutory requirements.
