Board members attending: Jason, Jeff, Dave, Lance & Mark.
Others attending: Velda & Gail
Minutes submitted by Mark Sires
Jason called the meeting to order. Please note for the minute organization below, the order of some topics is being
shifted to topics in the meeting minutes where they fit, not in the chronological order of where the discussions
occurred.
1.
2.
3.
4.
Treasures Report – Checking $8,795.24 Savings $1,505.61. Club is healthy financially.
Dave will prepare the operations budget for next year for the club. Once that is done, it will be presented to the
membership to make decision on next year’s budget and this year’s donations.
Dues are Due in October – It was recommended that the club send out a reminder letter to all those who are a year
behind, and then those who have not paid by the end of October.
a. There was a discussion about raising the dues. They are set by the bi-laws and would need to have a vote
to amend the constitution.
Duane Warner and his family and Mike Brown were recommended to be honorary members for next year. It will
have to be raised at a business meeting and then voted on at the annual meeting.
a. There was also a suggestion that we provide the meal for them at the banquet. Again, this will go to club
members for a decision.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I can't put it down.

Show review:2
a. Show finances were discussed.
i. Dave had 2 pages of results from the show. Copy attached.
ii. We still have some XL, 2XK, and 3XL shirts to sell
iii. The club took in $5,655.46 before expenses. There were a couple more donations that had yet
to be added. The expenses at this point are $2,934.79, but they are still being calculated.
b. Parking at the show was discussed at length along with some proposed solutions. The will go to the
show committee to decide.
c. Ballots were discussed at length. Many people were voting before 10 AM. It was recommended that we
give them a slip in the goodie bag that they exchange for the ballot at 11 AM. We will not give out the
ballots before 11 AM to prevent people from voting while cars are still coming in and not set up. This
will go to the show committee.
d. There was a discussion about not letting people pick their class when they pre-register. They fill out the
info on the car, but not to let them pick a class. The car’s class will be assigned by the people at the gate.
They will then take that class number to the registration table. This should help avoid all the changes of
class that happen, as well as cars that are modified going into stock classes and people not selecting the
correct class. Again, info to be sent to the show committee.
e. Have enough workers was discussed and it was recommended to have sign up lists. Then work on filling
spots people do not sign up for. Again, info to be sent to the show committee.
f. Pony Trails and the Poker Hand was discussed. Pony Trails went very well, with 34 cars. There will be
clarification on expectation on the poker hands at future Pony Trails.
g. The cruise in at Kings Row was discussed. It went well with 46 cars. A discussion felt that the support
Kings Row gave the club outweighed a lack of parking. The show committee might recommend club
cars park across the street next year if turn-out is high.
h. Show had 161 paid registered cars, with 154 on the field.
i. Mark advised the fire-truck class would not be organized again. Too low of participation and many other
demands were placed on local fire-fighter time with all the fires and other responsibilities.
j. Sunbeam class went well and paid for itself. If the Sunbeam promise 4 or more cars next year, we will
repeat the class.
k. It was suggested we reach out to other Ford clubs, such as the Model A’s, Vintiques, etc. to grow the
show and will create more classes if cars are promised.
l. Expanding the non-Ford class was discussed. It was generally agreed we might want to divide if you
year groups, but the show committee will decide that.
m. It was decided the club will not pay postage for the 5 trophies that did not get picked up. We will try to
notify the winners and they can make arrangements to get them. If not distributed by next Spring, we
will return to Heinz to be recycled for next year.
The Web site was discussed. We are getting a very good deal. The bill for the last 4 months was approved
($121).
There was a discussion about loaning the club’s sound system out to other groups or people. It was generally felt
that we did not want to get into a habit of doing that and if we started loading to some, we would then be obligated
out of fairness to loan to others. The board made an executive decision the sound system would be for our club
functions only.
The Coffee stop was discussed. The board is in favor of doing it again. It will need to go to the membership at
the next general meeting as we will need to reserve the time slot soon. Preference was suggested to be for a
weekend, even if it means switching to west bound traffic.
All the toilets in New York's police stations have been stolen. Police have nothing to go on.
Nominations for next years officers are coming due. At the October Board meeting, the Board will make it’s
recommendation as per the bi-laws and then take nominations from the floor at the general meeting.
10. The banquet was discussed. It is the VPs responsibility. An idea to shift from the traditional setting to a
conference room at a local buffet was suggested. We already have reservations at the Clarion. The VP will need
to organize this.
11. Having more functions where the club pays for food for the members or other expenses was discussed.
Jason closed the meeting.

SCMC General Meeting
September 26, 20123
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Jason Ratliff.
Treasurer’s Report:

Balance – Checking $8,425.35 and Savings $1,505.61
Pony Trails and Car Show:

David Mitts presented an update of our car show. We had 161 total cars paid and 154 at the show. Hoping
for 200 next year. We also had 66 sponsorships. Next year we will try to set up a little different for parking,
by spreading out more. Those who worked at the gate and parking were thanked for a job well done as it
seems all the cars came in at once. More help is needed in parking. Also passing out the ballots was
discussed. This year we made the most money ever on the raffle with a total $855.00. All the food and
drinks were sold. All in all a very good show.

The Pony Trails had 34 cars attend. Ray stated the members were treated very well by those businesses in
Ellensburg.

Kings Row had 47 cars attend. Parking was tight, but went very well.
Drawings:

Bill Hinmann won the door prize and Bill Linse won the 50/50 drawing.
Upcoming Events and Shows:

Velda stated she has tickets for the Octoberfest for Children’s Wishes and Dreams at the Civic Center on
October 13.
Coffee Stop:

The club decided weekends are best for members to volunteer for the coffee stop. Velda will try to get a
weekend for the east side, if not then will try for the west side. If she cannot get a weekend, we will not do
the coffee stop.

The Patterson show is October 7th. Meet at K-Mart at 8:00 a.m..
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.
General Information:
 Doug needs articles for the newsletter.
 October our dues need to be paid.
 It is time to think about elections for officers with a vote at the Christmas party.
 If there are things in the bi-laws that the club wants to change, we need to discuss it at the upcoming
meetings, so we can vote on them at the Banquet in January.
 Juanita Marking passed away. The club will donate $50.00 in her memory to Children’s Wishes and Dreams.
Meeting Adjourned: 8:30 p.m.
Pony Trails Information: Doug and Amy, OH, I WISH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN HERE. WE HAD 32 CARS
FOR THE PONY TRAIL AND THREE SUNBEAM TIGERS MET US AT THE RED HORSE AT LUNCH. WE
HAD 47 CARS LAST NIGHT FOR THE CRUISE!!!! Everyone enjoyed the Ellensburg Farmers Market. Kelleher
Motors cleared their lot to let us park there. The winner of the poker walk received a $20.00 gift card from Kings Row
and lunch for two at the show. HOW EXCITING!! One of the couples that are always here (please don't ask me
names, I only do facies!!!) ask where the lady was that always does the cinnamon notes. I told here "sorry, will breads
do?" MISS YOU GUYS, WISH YOU WERE HERE. Gotta get to the park!! Velda
Show information: We had 161 paid entries 156 cars that showed up. The weather was just about perfect. Among
the cars were 3 or maybe 4 Sunbeam Tigers, a 427 powered AC Cobra, many really nice Cougars, one Shelby GT 350
Mustang, and a whole host of other very nice cars. Our club had some winners, myself, Richard Rettig, Mark, Leroy
Dukes Harold and Mary Clark and I think Ray, Lonnie, and Rob Lyons son. I'm sure there were more, but that is all I
remember. The people from Kohls came(5). They were great, really a big help. As YOU know we are always just a
little short of help, so it was sooo good to have them. We cleared over $200.00 on the 50/50. got several boxes of
food for that donation.
We had the most sponsors ever, and I think we sold the food out. I'm sure Mark and Dave and Mary will add to this,
but I hope it helps give you some info. Jeff and Velda
"Always See The Big Picture"
The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their Tent all set up, both men
fell sound asleep.
Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, 'Kemo Sabe, look towards sky, what you see?'
The Lone Ranger replies, 'I see millions of stars.'
What that tell you?' asked Tonto.
The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, 'Astronomically speaking, It tells me there are
millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.
Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, the Lord
is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day
tomorrow.
What's it tell you, Tonto?'
"You dumber than buffalo dung Kemo Sabe. It means somebody stole our tent."
From Velda
On Sunday, October 7, 2012, PACIFIC NORTHWEST MUSTANG CLUB’S 26th Annual Concours d' Elegance at
the Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson, Washington.
It was a great day and although a little cool first thing in the morning, the rest of the day turned out really nice. There
were 171 cars and other vehicles at the show. We were able to field 13 cars from our club, but still were not the
largest club in attendance, as the Mustang Wranglers from Oregon had 15 cars. Club members in attendance with
were Jeff Waidner and his 65 Coupe, Judy Mangum and her 65 coupe, Bill Hinman and his 68 convertible, David &
Audrey Haynes and their 67 coupe, Richard & Vicki Rettig and their 70 Boss 302, Fred & Kathy Miles and their 69
coupe, Harold & Mary Clark and their 67 fastback, Lonnie Epperson and Amelia Epperson and their 89 fastback,
Lance Sontag and his 02 GT coupe, David Hawkins and 9? coupe, Ray Fletcher and his 05 GT convertible, David and
Page 5 of 11
Marcy Mitts and their 07 Shelby, and Mark Sires
and his Roush P51. We did well on pulling
trophies. Jeff took 3rd with his little blue Mustang
coupe (with Bull’s Eye riding shotgun), Bill took
1st with his red convertible, Richard took 1st with
his Orange Boss 302 (after having a bit of a hard
luck day getting to the show), Lonnie took 3 rd
with this blue Fox body, Lance took 3 rd with his
white GT Baron, Ray took 3rd with his
convertible, Mark took second with his Roush,
and finally Harold and Mary took 1st with the
Yellow 67 (even if it had no seat and Harold
drove it in sitting on a pillow). Competition was
fierce, with Jeff, Harold & Mary, Ray, and Mark
all having 8 or more cars in their class. As
always, the winery grounds were a great place of
the show and a good time seemed to have been
had by all (with a little help from the wine tasting
room!!!).

Editorial information:
Items set aside for the show committee: I
noticed that a lot of issues were set aside for the
show committee to look into. Was this to be this
year’s show committee or next years? I would
suggest that these issues should be looked into by
this year’s show committee. They could then
give what they think would have been the best
way to have rectified this “problems” and next
year’s committee could look over these issues
and choose to accept or reject the possible solutions that were suggested.

do not have them in our records. A reminder, we don’t need to know the year you were born, but it would be nice to have the
