Ph.D. degree 2010, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"; “The Conception of Man in
Early Daoism (According to Zhuangzi)”. Subject: a philosophical analysis of the ancient
Chinese debate on human nature, based on classical textual sources. The thesis throws
light upon the idea of man-on-the-Way in Daoism and explores aspects of Far-eastern
anthropology, which have not been discussed yet. The dissertation scholarly value is not
only the historiographical investigation, but also in the philosophical translation of the
classical Chinese treatise “Zhuangzi” – the meaningful source of early-Daoist thought.
